Amaziingly Inexpensive Photo Scanner That Uses Your i-Phone or Samsung Galaxy to Digitize
I was looking for something inexpensive that would let me digitize a small number of 35mm slides and 16mm film taken in the late 60's. I decided to give this a try and was astonished at how well it worked. First of all, there are no optics or electronics in this device. It is basically a light box that holds your Apple or Samsung smart phone and the negatives, slides, or pictures. The smart phone already knows how to do the rest. You place the smart phone in the appropriate holder on top and slide the photo or film in a slot. You turn the LED lights and phone on and take a picture. That's it.You can then download the pictures from the smart phone just like you normally do and work on them with Windows or Photoshop to crop and edit them. I have pictures from the slides in a slide show on my computer with 1024 x 1280 resolution and they look great. The process takes about 30 seconds per shot and is very easy, but I am not sure this is a good solution if you have hundreds of pictures. It was perfect for me.I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, which is not one of the cameras supported, but was able to slightly modify the S3 holder to accommodate it. It involved using a milling machine, but the holder is not critical, so part of it could probably just be cut off to let the very slightly larger S4 be mounted.For something that costs less that $20, this is a truly amazing product that provides another use for your expensive smart phone.

Good value.
Works real well for the price. Even if it's not an exact fit for your phone it's easily adapted. Though you may need to hunt down an app that works best for you, this is still the best value. Beats the heck out of a shoe box and flashlight.

NO SOFTWARE - Useless product
NO software available anywhere online. Exchanged emails with seller -- could not help.I wanted to scan negatives. I tried using two different photo software programs which allowed reversing the colors, but the colors were terrible.Useless product -- same as taking smart-phone photo. See comparison with scan from Epson 600

Works OK, but I get better pictures holding a slide up to a window and taking a photo with my iPhone.
