There is no "padded case." The COVER of the book is padded, and it's a nice, very little book. I am sure I will enjoy reading all of the stories. Just be aware that there is no case.

The book itself is beautiful, with its gold gilt-edged pages and beautiful artwork throughout. I kept it on my library table during the entire holiday season where it was often picked up and read by myself, family members and guests as well.This is a lovely addition to your library as well as to your holiday decorations.

A gorgeous, informative little volume! Much interesting information, in small chunks. After purchasing one for myself, I bought 3 more copies to give to family members...Can't wait till St. Nicholas Day!
