The most comfortable running shoes on the planet!
I normally don't take time to rate stuff i buy here but these shoes deserve a recommendation, or rather everyone deserves to have these shoes on their feet!First off, the cushioning is just really REALLY comfortable. I have wide, flat feet which unfortunately means i am more prone to injury than most runners and sadly, there aren't a lot of shoes out there that could give me a comfortable run. I have tried asics gel venture, nike revolution 3 and nike fs lite run 3 and so far these gel kayanos are the only pair of shoes wherein i haven't felt pain on my feet. Instead, i would describe the feeling as similar to running on a thick foam tile like the ones with the letters of the alphabet used in toddlers' rooms. Also, i would admit that this is my first time getting shoes online so i was half expecting to return it as soon as i try it on but it fits perfectly. I have always been a size 12 4e, at least with all my previous shoes and i read somewhere here that it may be smaller but i would have to say it fits perfectly.Lastly, it looks really cool! It's one of those things that you would be proud to show off to the other guys running at the neighborhood trail. I'm more of a function guy really. The last thing i consider when it comes to my sport gear is the looks but this one just nailed it. Over all, this has to be one of the best running shoes around. I would say it's the best but i haven't really tried them all but i'm confident enough to say that it's worth writing this long review for.Overall, I AM ONE HUNDRED PERCENT SATISFIED and if you are looking for a great pair of shoes for running, this has to be it.

Very Solid Running Shoe - best I've owned
I'm a total Nike nut. I love all things Nike and swear by their shoes - except for running. I think running shoes are one of those items that are best served by niche brands. I'm not a hard core runner but I do get out to run regularly and do about 3.5 miles each run. I've heard about the Kayanos for a while, and heard all good things. I was running was Asics Gel Cirrus 33's for about a year and they were ok - actually at first they were uncomfortable, so I decided this time around I would take a step up and try out the Kayanos. The very first time i wore them, i could tell how much softer they were than my previous shoes. I'm sure it wasn't entirely due to the shoe, but I shaved off 90 seconds on my lap time at the Rose Bowl loop on my first wear. Subsequent laps haven't felt as soft, so I've probably adjusted (as opposed to them stiffening which wouldn't make sense; my lap tops have fluctuated too). Have been running with these puppies for about 2 months now and they are probably the best running shoe I have ever owned. They are lightweight and feel pretty good on the feet. I can't speak too much about arch issues - I don't have flat feet but not overly arched either, and I have no problems with these. The only issue I've noticed is the laces seem to come untied more frequently than I can remember. Style is purely subjective but I dig the color scheme of this model. You can also tell it's a well assembled shoe. Worth the money and worth a shot!

These shoes are absolutely amazing. I have minor flat feet issue and long distance walking/running can be a problem. But not with ASICS Gel Kayano series!!! This (Gel Kayano 22) is my second pair, following my previous Gel Kayano 21 pair that became a bit flat after half year of heavy use and approximately 600-900 miles. The arch support is perfect, I can continuously walk in these shoes for 3-4 hours and not have any pain in my feet, the pain that was inevitable in all of my previous shoes after hour or two of walking. Both the heel and front parts of the sole are absorbing the shock very well so I guess these shoes are good for runners and can prevent back or knee issues. The design is also very nice, however I like the look of 21 model and the materials it was made of a bit more than 22. The external material is very durable and despite the heavy and extensive use I have no tears or any other sort of damage to the material. These shoes also have different sub sizes for people with wide feet and 2E size worked well for me. I wish they could have more choice of color for these wide sub sizes and not just D/M sizes.

WOMAN using men running shoes
I have been a loyal Kayano user since the 17 series. I have also bought the 19 and 21 series. The 17 are still my favorite. I have to say the more changes they keep making to the Kayano's the more I am looking for a replacement. But I am always hoping they go back to the 17....wishful thinking.Anyway, initially I bought the Kayano 23 in a women's size 9. The toe box felt super restrictive and I couldn't wiggle my toes comfortably. It was also very narrow and it pinched my arch (FYI, I gave them a test run on my home treadmill). I don't have wide feet and I've never had this issue with these shoes. It was a sad day and I returned them the next day. #FirstworldproblemsI really needed to replace my 21s, so I decided to give these shoes a chance. I bought size 7.5 and they fit perfectly. The toe box is still a little tight but not as bad as the 23s. Since they are males they are already wider, so I imagine them looking super bulky on my feet. Nope. They look just like my female pair. A great positive is that there is more padding/gel so the shoe feels really comfortable. I don't like the pressure I feel on both of big toe when walking, but it's not too bad when running. I'm hoping the toe box will either stretch or I'll just get used to it :/. I'm just hoping my toenail doesn't turn purple. I will update if it does.UPDATE: 1 Week later. The toebox has "stretched" a little. My big toes don't feel squished anymore. I use the running shoes to walk/jog at least 5-6 miles each day (average). That's just to give you an idea of why it took only a week for it to stretch out. Obviously, it will depend on your use. I would buy again.
