I decided to give this product a try because it was a fraction of the price compared to other solar panels compatible with the SimpliSafe Outdoor camera. The main reason I didn't give it a 5 star review was because the mounting arm is very cheap, flimsy, and difficult to tighten down so that it doesn't move. Also limited in articulation and mounting positions.But once in place, it is actually working great at keeping my camera battery charged and topped off, even in the winter in the overcast skies of Oregon. The solar panel itself has a lithium battery built in and my guess is that it charges first during the rare sunny days we have here, which in turn, helps to keep the camera battery charged on the rainy cloudy days. I have had it about a week, but so far, so good.We are getting ready to leave for several months, but I am confident that this solar panel will prevent the camera battery from going completely dead while we are away, unless a storm comes and knocks it off the roof or out of position. Will report back later if that is the case.

Was doubtful at first but considering they are half the price of oem SimpliSafe panels, I gave it a shot. It was a shot worth taking I can say. My camera installed on driveway, so it gets lots of action everyday, I set my motion sensitivity on Medium for All Motion. A typical day will see it drain roughly 10-20%, this panel will trickle charge typically around late afternoon (don’t know why this time but my guess is it senses no more sun light) and replenish the camera’s battery anywhere from 13-20% (this depends on how much sun the panel gets) by late night. So far, the battery is either recharged to par or around 1-3% daily depletion rate, I’m pretty satisfied with this little panel, considering how often the camera uses battery and the price point. Also, install was a cinch. My only recommendation for manufacturer is for future models to have more articulation for the attachment arm, this would allow for maximum twisting and 360 rotation.
