I have a Thinkpad T480 that I use almost every day for schoolwork and programming, so I often plug and unplug the laptop from a thunderbolt dock and various accessories. On the T480, one of the big (and almost only) problems is that the charging ports are soldered to the motherboard, so accidentally tripping over the cord could total the port. These adapters make sure the charger breaks away before damaging the port. The magnets are pretty strong and super hard to remove if you pull straight out (tilt it up like a lever, it makes it easier). They also have all 24 pins connected as advertised so they still work with any usb-c device (even 4k thunderbolt monitors). My only 2 complaints would be that 1.) if you accidentally step on/smack the large part of the adapter on something, it might dent the metal and make it harder to plug in. 2.) I haven't had this issue happen yet, but if you work in a place with a lot of metal debris, because of the magnet, they might get caught in the adapter. Overall a great product, would definitely recommend

After breaking a dedicated charging cable for my Mac I decided to try these connectors, they are about the best quality that is available, they work so perfectly. After realizing the ease of use I purchased two more for my wife she loves them too.

It is an attractive little adapter. It appears to work just fine, but I can see why people think the magnet is not strong enough. It holds the connection in place, and separates safely when pressure is put on the side. This eliminates the chance of damage to the port, however it can be challenging to remove the device from the port because it will separate and it fits snugly into some ports. You have to grip a very small surface to pull it out. I think it could have a stronger magnet, allowing removal without separation more frequently while still separating when lateral pressure is applied. I currently have no way to test the USB level yet, since I only have 3.0 ports and cables. I am so far happy with this device as it could save me from damaged ports. Time will tell if I find it annoying.

So I've used similar products for years but knew them to historically been power-only and not allowing data transmissions. I heard of this product through a web article that I accidentally stumbled upon and wanted to try it out. I work 1-2 days at home and the rest in office with my laptop going back and forth daily. I have a Dell with 2 USB-C ports on the left side and where I dock it at work, it's near the edge of my desk and prone to being bumped. I liked this idea even though it was for a device I don't need to personally worry about wear and tear on. But I was impressed by the fact that I have 2 monitors connected to my dock powered separately and then a few USB devices and LAN connection. When I dock in through this adapter, it's seamless. No warning about a low power output for charging and all my devices work fine. Most of my work is web application driven and some meetings with a USB camera and USB wireless headset. No issues with data transmission through this! At home I have a 2nd dock with similar setup and this works great on both Dell docks and then I can use my Chromebook easily too with that dock through this as well. I haven't tried it yet but once I get another set, I'll plan to test the following and update this review. Planning to test a USB-powered external display that I use on a treadmill with a standing desk too for the same laptop and Chromebook. I assume it will work and if so it'll simplify my 3 main stations I cycle between with ease of clicking a quick release

I have a set of these between my Lenovo docking station and Lenovo yoga. Very easy to make the connection, passes all the power necessary to charge the laptop. Without it complaining. I run a 4K display, fast! Ethernet, keyboard, mouse, headset from the docking station with no bandwidth problems. As a bonus, having a magnet at the end of the cable from the dock allows it to stay put (it sticks to the metal stand which holds up the yoga) so I can find it easily when I return.

I intended to use this on a wired USB game controller so the cable would break away if someone tripped on it. I found that the magnet was too weak for this; just the weight of three feet of USB cable was enough to make the connector separate. Works fine on a desk, though.

Makes changing dies a quick and easy task, saves wear on my MacBook Pro.

I was using a pair of these to connect my Dell 7670 laptop with dual USB C/ Lighting wire connections to my dock so I wasn't plugging and unplugging the connector all the time. This worked for a while, but after about a week, I started getting really weird screen artifacts, or it wouldn't boot, or the monitors (3 of them) would each blink on and off randomly. Couldn't figure out what was going on, then I tried connecting without these connectors and all of a sudden, the computer worked normal again. Doing some research online, turns up A LOT of negative feedback on magnetic connectors for this purpose. Probably works perfectly well for charging your phone, or plugging in other less demanding device, but I can tell you for a laptop dock, it is utter disaster.

Ich war erst Skeptisch und wurde vom Gegenteil überzeugt. Einen nutze ich um mein iPAD mit einem Monitor zu verbinden und das hat auf Anhieb geklappt. Den 2ten nutze ich für ein USB-C Hub mit 2 SSD und auch da hat es auf Anhieb funktioniert. Bin echt Baff. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Sicuramente molto comodo e soprattutto non da problemi di contatti e ricarica come successo al presente con altri prodotti, però potrebbe essere un problema la polvere o varie se non si fa attenzione e si utilizza il cellulare in luoghi non del tutto puliti, alcune volte devo ripulire l'attacco "femmina" del cellulare perchè altrimenti non fa ben contatto per lo sporco e non ricarica
