Unit would not power on. Refurbished? QC problems
This unit would not power on. It should power in with a blinking light as soon as you plug it in. I own several Apple TVs and even used those cords to get this unit to power on. This unit just would not receive power and is a dead unit. I am returning it to the seller. If it’s refurbished then they could do better in their quality control to ensure the unit actually worked. I own several Apple TVs I know how to operate them. I would be very cautious with this seller. I submitted a refund, and returned the broken item as directed. I was given a refund for the taxes of around 7.00, and charged a restocking fee of 105.00! Basically they just store my money. Are they going to re-sell this broken item only to have it returned for another 105.00 restocking fee of a broken item? I am submitted an investigation to Amazon about the selling, and return practices.

The remote doesn’t operate the box
The remote doesn’t work with apple products, it’s just a simple universal remote so it may work with your tv but you will need your iPhone for any hope of it working, luckily I have one so it works good for me.

Disappointed with Seller response
The one star is because of my contact with the Seller. The Apple TV worked but was in Spanish not English. I got the language changed to English thanks to YouTube. The remote stopped working and won't charge. I asked about a replacement for the remote, they would only take a return of both items. One review I saw mentioned a rather large restocking fee. I asked if there was a restocking fee and if so the amount. As I understood the reply from the seller they would not say the amount of the restocking fee and would not say if it would be charged to me until they evaluated what was wrong. Rather than risk continued hassle, I bought a universal remote from another seller. It doesn't work as well as the Apple remote I thought I had purchased, but it works well enough. The discount for used acceptable is not enough to compensate for the hassle. I decided not to return the Apple TV with my Apple ID in it or trust that a factory reset would protect my information.

Well worth the premium price if you already own Apple products
Apple TV is expensive, but it’s the best streaming TV product — especially if you already live with Apple products. This was for my bedroom TV. I already have the same product in my living room.

One Good, One Bad
I ordered two of this units. The first one worked perfect, I would give a 5 star for the first one. The second one was useless. Arrived without a remote control, had a fraction of the features of the first one, it started up as registered to a a school district. I went through the update and reset process with it, still would not work like the first one. Will return the second one and look elsewhere for a replacement. Not going to take the risk with this vendor again.
