GUNSONG4053 Carbalancer

It's not sophisticated, but easy to use and accurate enough. I have used it to balance the SU carbs on my Range Rover and it even worked well on the oval-shaped inlets my son's motorbike.Hopefully it won't be needed often, as though the Gunson is simple to use, actually adjusting the carbs can be a bit fiddly. It's good to know that it sits in the cupboard in my garage with the other special tools that are important but only needed occasionally - tuning light gun, compression tester, spring compressor etc.

Though this works in a rudimentary fashion I found the indicator float is irregularly shaped (has flashings) in its tube and sticks, tapping the tube allows it to move to hopefully the correct position, all I can say is its better than the method of listening to the vacuum hiss to balance each carb.

It's a bit tricky to get repeatable readings but I achieved a good result in the end.

It does what it is supposed to do but It’s fiddly and awkward to use. Will work well if accessibility to your carbs is an issue.

I bought this to set up my Carbs on my MGB GT - SU's HIF4's. The instructions were clear and the balancer was easy to use. It did highlight a problem with one of the carbs as the air flow was very poor. I now need to strip down that carb and check there are no blockages or worn parts.

Un peu leger et fixation instable pour regler correctement un carbu .je regrette de ne pas avoir pris le modele en alu, bien que deux fois plus cher.

Dificil obtener una lectura precisa, el nivel se clava con facilidad.

Utilisé sur sumbeam alpine 1967 bien mais la bille se coince dans le tube il faut faire attention
