Hakubaku Authentic Japanese Ramen Noodles (Shio, 12 PACK)

These popped up on my Amazon prime day feed. So glad to have tried them. Easy, quick ramen fix like what you would get at a ramen house, not exactly of course but similar. Noodles are packed like "fresh" noodles, soft. these take about 2 minutes cook time but taste far superior to the "instant packet ramen". shelf stable, got these in July and the expiration date is December. will definitely reorder.

Im not sure about the authenticity claim but these are really good on their own, or as a base to add things to. Just be careful opening them up because the oxygen absorber sticks to the noodles and you will absolutely dump it into your boiling water.

This ramen is fine but I don't like it as much as the typical "fried" noodle type. It has a more healthy, fresh taste compared to fried ramens.-The soup flavor is chicken-soupy and neutral which complements pretty much any extras you add. It's easy to add an egg to make an egg-drop soup. I thought the soup strength and flavor to be good overall.-The noodles are bland in flavor despite cooking in the soup. They are a soft, "fresh" noodle so they have a nice chewy texture if that's what you want but I prefer the fried noodle ramen for both the texture and the flavor.

First purchase of this particular style. Excellent taste, noodles were great. Will buy again.

The noodles are thin but a good texture. The flavor packet tastes like 100% salt. Way too salty. I'll probably use Miso paste instead because the noodles are OK.

The noodles are not wet or dry and hard in their pouch. It takes about 5 min in total to heat water, open packet, and cook. I added asparagus and an egg. The tender noodles were flavorful and had great texture. The seasoning packet was tasty and didn't have that way to salty taste you get with the typical soup packet. I had the Tonkatsu and look forward to the other ones, especially the miso.

I started buying Hakubaku ramen kits on the advice of a Japanese friend when we moved to an area without any Japanese restaurants or markets - approximately 2019. As late as 2021, they were still selling the Hakubaku Fresh Ramen Tonkotsu Pork Flavor, 9.7 ounce (for 2 people per pack) and it was pretty darned good. That disappeared, I will never understand why.Suddenly, we could only get the brown paper bag (seriously) with 4 servings each, and that's kind of useless for a family of two.Now, this trio is their substitute for the original ramen kits we bought in 2021, and there's no comparison. Watery, boring noodles, super-salty, and nothing approaching the quality we used to expect.I don't know what's going on with the company but, with regrets, I highly do not recommend this product any longer.

Just tried my first bowl of these noodles and they are worth every penny! I love Ramen, and have been eating it for years, but I have to say that these are the best noodles that I have ever made at home….highly recommend.
