Delivers, and then some.
I feel in love with this series in October of 2023. I devoured all of the books up to book 5, and then saw 3 more were planned. I was both excited and devastated. I decided to wait until the series was completed to continue. And God, was it worth every second, every minute of waiting. There’s just something about these characters, the plots, the revelations, that makes this story seem Alive. Rich with lore, plotting, and intense character development, there’s never a dull moment. I feel like everyone has a lesson to learn and a path to follow to find themselves and their destiny. Cassia and Lio are just absolutely beautiful. I love them together and individually. Unconditionally supportive, endlessly passionate, super sexy (without being over the top), they are my gold standard for fantasy love without the macho, alpha. The supporting cast is fantastic as well, and go through their own satisfying story arcs that adds so much depth that, again, the story feels real and alive. I can’t say enough about how much I love this series and these characters.

Blood Union
Oh my goodness! This series keeps getting better and better. This story has brought me so much joy and I love how the Hesperines embrace and support each other. Lio and Cassia are amazing and reading about their journey had me on the edge of my seat. I wish I could be one of their close friends. I love this couple! I desperately want this series to be in audio format and made into a movie. In this book we get to see other Hesperines shine and we have been introduced to some new characters with interesting stories of their own. There are so many big surprises, and I can't wait to see how they will pan out in future books. Vela, can you please give the Jinn their own stories? And some of the shapeshifters need their own stories too. I think this is a saga more than a series and I love it. I wish I could capture everything in this review to let my fellow readers know how amazingly awesome Blood Union Part 2 is.

Vela Roth started great and gets better every book
This book was the best of the series. Haven’t stopped thinking about it.I loved the pacing. started with time to introduce rich new characters and ended with a really satisfying plot.I cannot wait for the next one.

best one yet
If all of them had had this pacing and this much action while still staying true to Cassia and Lio’s diplomatic natures and the ways in witch Roth does veer from many tropes, this series would be infinitely more popular. It would be a book tok fave.

A stunning addition to a wonderful series
Fantastic. Phenomenal. I really can't express how delighted I was with this book and where it took us, especially after my kinda lukewarm feelings after the first half. Really, that's my only complaint - that the book ended up split in half - and that's not even the author's fault, Amazon just has limits on how long self-published books are allowed to be, and she did the best she could to find a place to split them. But, wow, what a rollercoaster!! This is the most "traditional fantasy" set up out of all Vela's books, which I enjoyed. The plot is very clear - they've got to follow all these little bread crumbs, wander all over this new land, and meet tons of new people and cultures to find what they're looking for. I do enjoy our time in Orthos, but for me this was a breath of fresh air, kinda getting away from the utopia and everything-is-awesome vibes and going into something more action- and plot-oriented. I thoroughly enjoyed every new character we met, and uncovering more about my new fave, Monsoon. (We get to find out who his romantic partner is in this novel, and it was EVERYTHING I was hoping for!! I can't wait for their books.) There's just so much neat stuff, it would be difficult to get into - but one of my top faves has to be the double-amputee warrior lady who rides a giant cat. How could you not want to read about a bad--- like that??There's also continued development of our faves Lio and Cass too, of course. I'm continually impressed by Vela's ability to dive into different aspects of their characters and conflicts each novel. In this one, Cass really grapples with herself and what she wants, of course - but so does Lio, in a major way!! His beliefs and what he thinks he wants out of life are tested in a major way in this novel, and it was so invigorating to read. Vela is also super good about diving into those pivotal moments where everything seems to be going wrong and you just don't know how the world is going to right itself - Sanctuary has an excellent example of this, and there's one here, too. But, of course, our heroes manage to claw their way back into the light (and back to each other). Finally - maybe the best part. The revelations. GIRL. The amount of insane shizzle uncovered in this book is ludicrous. Just when I thought there couldn't be any more revelations, we get hit with punch after punch after punch that totally turn everything we know about the series on its head. Just incredible. There was literally a moment where everything was winding down, and I was wondering what the next volume could possibly be about when everything seems settled - and then we get the reveal to end all reveals. I was screaming. As with any good fantasy series, there was plenty I saw coming, but so much I didn't, and I am so, SO invested in the next volume. This book was just so good. Maybe my favorite of the series. I cannot recommend this series enough to fantasy romance readers (or even more traditional fantasy lovers like myself).

Still fighting
This is book six of the Blood Grace series. It continues the story of Lio and Cassia and they are still fighting to be together. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I was sucked into this book! You’re drawn right away into the mystery that the story unravels chapter by chapter. Amazing world building that is detailed and imaginable. Fascinating characters that are well developed and diverse. This is a fast-paced intriguing read! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Well worth the build-up of the previous book!
This second part was worth all the build-up of the previous book! Vela Roth's best qualities as an author are all on display here.We get to see more of the Empire as we travel from place to place continuing the quest from the last book, and as always the world-building and mythology behind each new region and culture are fascinating and would deserve a book of their own to explore them in-depth. We meet a host of new characters, all memorable and well-fleshed-out. I feel attached to them despite not many pages being dedicated to each individually, because their personality shines through even when the focus is on Cassia and Lio. It's obvious the author has a lot of fun making them up, and also that she's either a gamer or an anime watcher, or possibly both. And to top it all, the plot is fantastic. Every new reveal reveals a new layer of the tapestry we have been trying to understand since the first book, but at the same time creates more and more mysteries so that I can barely wait to see the full story laid out. The second half of this book was twist after twist, but so well-crafted that I did not feel overwhelmed. I saw several plot points coming, but others managed to surprise me, and sent my mind spinning with possibility for the rest of the series. Every character has so much potential for their arcs, and I can't wait to see which direction they take.My problems with the main romance are partially assuaged, but not completely laid to rest. Cassia's frustration at her own mortality was exasperating to read, but made perfect sense when she realized the cause, and I cheered when she managed to move past it. I can't say the same for Lio. His protectiveness is suffocating, especially as more than once he tried to make decisions for both of them without consulting her first. It was his duty, as he so often repeats to her, to understand and alleviate her fears, but instead of seeking the root of her problem and helping her heal he acted as if he also thought that she was a weak mortal in need of saving and becoming Hesperine would solve everything. For how much Hesperines are supposed to respect a person's Will, he certainly seemed to be focused only on her physical well-being, trampling her desires and mental hang-ups in the process. Not sure if I have any hope of him improving in the future, since the narrative (and Cassia) don't see anything wrong with that behavior. Fortunately, we had once again some better male role models in Mak and Lyros, who were a delight as always. I'm going to miss their POVs in the next book!

an amazing journey full of angst
“Hespera,” she rasped with the remnants of her voice, “was I not worth saving?”⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5It was an amazing journey full of angst.Adventures of Knight, Cassia and Lio continue, and we follow their quest during dangerous times and places.I have so much fun (even if i was nervous with all this plot twists and sudden revelations) when our small group enters jinn’s territories.Danger, tricky rules and heat, so much heat are following us. Secret society and their dark obsession with Cassia added angsty and glass eating moments for me.Mak’s chapters were heartbreaking, this lovely man has sad thoughts and fears, gladly everything was resolved at the end, but it definitely added depth to the character. Can’t wait to see what awaits Cassia and Lio in Blood Gift.

Ancient society, forgotten magic and secrets.
The culmination of all their searching is coming to an end. They are close to following Solia's footsteps. But can they follow her to prison? How will they save her when they don't even know where she is?The stories Cassia hears about her beloved sister, Sunburn, is nothing like she imagined. She knew how brace and courageous her sister is, but she has never known her to wield a sword. On top of all that, Cassia needs to understand what Broken Stones want with her, and why they think Old Master is still lurking inside her head, trying to force his way into the Empire through her.In her lowest moment, she is visited by the spirits of her ancestors. Through them she finds out just how strong her line is. She is descended from powerful sorceresses with ancient Lustra magic, her mother included. Unlike the gossips at court, turns out her mother was actually a powerful mage at the Temple of Kyria in Cordium, and the only reason she left with Lucis is because ancient, rare, and powerful magic has awoken in her and she was no longer safe there. With the help of their magic, Cassia escapes and comes to the court of the Empress. But where is Solia? Still in prison? Or was she there the entire time, looking for Cassia, as well as being looked for.I KNEW IT!! I just knew Solia was alive, even still in book three, and I just knew it was Solia the entire time in the Blood Union. I am heartbroken to find out next book is coming out soon, because I don't know if I can wait to find out what their decision will be.
