Has all the high quality of Atoma's full sized plates. Very happy with the performance of this 1 x 6 stone in 140 grit.

I am a serious craftsman sharpener. I migrated from a KME system with Atoma profiling stones (120 and 400) and 6 Venev bonded diamond stones; sharpened around 500+ edges over 4.5 years. Then the major upgrade to a Tsprof Kadet Pro with the same stones in 6" form. Plus both kangaroo strops with diamond paste, and newly three grades of diamond lapping films. I am for very functional sharpening, depending on the blade steel, geometry, and cutting use., plus a bonus nice shiny edge that's pleasing to look at (!). The Atoma stones are top shelf value/performance tools. They cut fast and effectively with (remind yourself!) virtually no pressure. Might be others out there that perform at this level, but these have been outstanding for me. I typically use the Atoma 120 or 400 (or both on a 'harder' steel) to set the edge profile. For old school carbon steel kitchen knives, then strop and done. EDC pocket knives continue with a Venev stones sharpening (80, 120, 240, 400 for working knives and 'softer' steel; 800, rarely 1200 for super steel), then strops or lapping films. Best results so far in my sharpening journey. Still seeking and learning! Great product performance, very decent value. I'm happy.

You can never go wrong with this stone. It’s a great profiling/reshaping stone, quick metal removal, lasts forever. If you’re interested in the best for sharpening without overspending- I recommend it. Quality is worth the price for sure. Perfect size for standard fixed angle systems or smalls knives by hand,

Heard so much about these stones that despite the crazy price I decided to get one. In the picture it has an aluminum backing, I got one that looks totally different and has a plastic backing. Because of the plastic it isn't flat. It looks nothing like the picture. Not happy, instant return.
