Merriway BH01807 Gate Door Latch Smooth Ring, 150mm (6 inch) -Black Japanned

This was a replacement for an existing latch where a weld had failed after the wind blew the gate shut. It is not particularly robust feeling but good value at the price. Does the job.

The washers inside that help to keep them tight and connected through the door are flimsy and break. Only one out of 5 has held up to daily use.

Over all a cheap working handle, the ring does work a little loose but doesn’t affect it. Also if I was to criticise it would the bar that goes between between the handles could do with being a few cm longer then you can cut it down if need be. Not all gates are the same thickness

Flat head screws are terrible at the best of times. The metal on these screws is poor so it ended up with metal burs and resulted in metal splinters. Sad as the actual product is great, sturdy and well made. Needed to buy some pozi black screws and then it was perfect. Shame it doesn't come with good screws.

A proper heavy duty latch . Often the gate doesn't get closed properly by the postie or delivery drivers and even with the wind we have here the latch has not bent out of shape unlike the old one

The overall product wasn't very good quality, the metal quite flimsy with black powdered coating. The rings seemed smaller than what had been advertised in the pictures. The connecting bar provided was too slim to fit snugly in to the handles. It was too short anyway so I had to buy another longer, thicker bar from a local shop to use instead. I fitted the latch to my gate with the screws (which were cheap and nasty) realising that these will rust in no time at all. I attached the catch onto the post. I lifted the latch to place it into the catch - and the catch broke in half ! Please, do not waste your money on this cheap rubbish. I would have been better using a stick and a couple of elastic bands instead.

Great little latch we have used ours on our little summer hut in the garden. It was easy to install, looks the part and if it were to break at all parts are easy to get hold of.

Just what it is, a latch for a gate, has started to go a bit rusty but can touch up with paint.

Ja,ist halt das, wonach es aussieht und für den Preis kann man auch keine Besonderheit erwarten. Wer sich hier was Exclusives vorstellt , wird enttäuscht sein. Gut für die Kellertür oder den Mülleimerverschlag und dafür absolut ausreichend. Die Witterungsbeständigkeit wage ich zu bezweifeln, kann aber noch nichts Definitives dazu sagen.

Es para puertas antiguas. Lo he puesto por encima para que se vea el efecto. De calidad muy bien para los dormitorios y subida al desván. Si buscáis algo más de seguridad ya para eso no sirve.

Facile à poser, prix très correct.

Non solo bello, ma bellissimo

Simple et rustique, utilisé pour un portillon de jardin, fait le boulot... Pensez à peindre avant montage, le revêtement d'origine est juste un apprêt.
