Do these provide firm control on the stomach?

It is a light control only. smoothing rather than shaping.

Are they truly from the brand Spanx?

Yes they are, and they are marvellous under tight jeans X

I'm a small size 12, what size should I buy?

Hello Carmen, Thank you for your message. For a size 12, I would recommend a Medium in this style

Are these seamless and can they be worn with a low back dress?

They are seamless, it would though depend on how low the backless dress is...they are designed to be high waisted.
