I bought these and tailoring chalk at the same time. I like the chalk better because it brushes off easy. The pencils almost have to be washed.

The marking pencils seem ok right now - haven't used yet. However, they arrived loose in a brown Amazon envelope because the box they are packaged in is extremely flimsy - thin cardboard, almost paper, so it came open during shipping I suppose - at both ends. So pencils rolling loose in large envelope. Will have to put in alternate storage. Amazon envelope ok - manufacturer box was almost flat in envelope. Will update on use and removal of marks during washing as they seem oily as opposed to chalky.
