Apocalypse knife.
Very good design. Blade has a thickness that is almost impossible to snap. Steel is of the best combination of toughness edge retention and a chrome content that is high enough for corrosion protection but not so high as to lead to chipping of the edge, as stainless can be brittle. The handle is very comfortable and can see no problem with extend chopping. The design of the handle is also design for stabbing and thrusting as the tang is narrowed from the front to the bottom of the tang. this prevents the scales from sidelining forward and loosening. The chisel point could easily be used to dig with if necessary. The Perfect Apocalypse knife that stand up to severe punishment.and keep working. After Buying this one I want the longer one to attach to my pack. If anyone knows where I can find one please reply to this review

Best Fixed Knife I have bought in a long time
Purchased as part of a CHL rig. Pound for pound best priced fixed blade on the market-Steel is amazing, blade stock is thick, yet knife is super sharp, bead blast finish is excellent. Others are critical of grip-I have medium sized hands and they fit me perfectly and can see myself using this knife all day if required. Very Functional as an EDC for CHL or other applications. Overall Lynn Thompson produced another Great Knife!

great blade design, handle needs work
I needed a tough as nails camp knife for general tasks, limb removal, and fire wood splitting. This thing definitely delivers. The straight spine of the blade makes it easy to drive the knife through wood to split it. I had to search to find a knife with this feature. The kydex sheath holds the knife securely with a solid snap, and the belt loop is fixed with velcro and a snap. This is not a boutique knife, but a solid workhorse! I took off one star for handle. The shape and size are fine for me, but the raised metal spine is a blister maker. Plan on grinding that down. I've got to shake my head when a long running knife maker does something so stupid to an otherwise great knife. I've had this knife for a while and came back to buy another one. I found the price jacked up $75! It is discontinued, but you can still them out on the web for the original price $180-190. Get one while you can.

Blade punishment 101.
I've had this knife for less than a day and I've put it through the ringer. Yes, I'm the guy who sees a company jab it's product through a car hood and has to see if it's true. Well, it is. I shaved my arm with it right out of the box, then sliced a few tomatoes (as a base-line test). I called my cousin and Son over and proceeded to stab an old car hood until my arm hurt, then I gave it to my cousin to continue the punishment, who then passed it to my son. After an hour of jabbing a car hood, an old metal door, chopping on 1" to 3" saplings, and hammering it into a 2x4 (like the video), I proceeded to slice tomatoes, onions, and peppers for fajitas (last night's dinner). Best money I've ever spent on a blade. Well done Cold Steel.

TANK
This thing is made from depleted uranium tank armor. It has a nice weight, super sharp out of the box. The grip feels perfect in my hand. It also comes oiled. Good job cold steel. I bought this after watching the video after it picked up a car clamped to a vice on a forklift . Saw another video of a dude that sharpened this knife to not just cut hair but split hair. It just shows the potential of this beast.

A Good, Stout Tanto, But Not The Workmanship I Expected...
My Warcraft Tanto arrived with the usual fast shipping speed that has me so spoiled, that I wince at deliveries taking five days or more; in fact, this bad boy arrived a day early! Everything in life should work so well as my Amazon Prime Account!Accompanying the 13TL was another Cold Steel Voyager XL Tanto, since the one already in my collection was given as an early birthday present to my oldest son, who was openly lusting after it...As with the first Voyager XL Tanto, the one that arrived last Friday was ostensibly flawless. I put it through my usual new-knife-routine, which includes a thorough inspection and cleaning, plus a liberal application of TUFF GLIDE to the gently heated knife, before slipping on another of those cool Paracord "mummy wrapped" lanyards from Paracord 550 Bracelets. The massive, shaving-sharp Tanto blade snaps open with a quick flick of my wrist, just as the first one--and every other Voyager XL Knife in my collection--did. Happiness IS...But the 13TL Warcraft Tanto did not overly impress me. Oh, sure, at a glance the knife is very impressive, but a closer inspection revealed sloppy workmanship and ill-fitted hand grips. First, the jimping on the blade was frankly crooked, and not by design; it looked like whomever ground the groves into the spine of the knife was either in training or having a bad day. The far tip of the Tanto blade itself was asymmetrically ground, again, looking almost amateurish in its execution. And the grips were so ill-fitted that light actually shown between the grip panels and the tang-steel when held up to my desk lamp (and yes, the screws were plenty tight). Fail! Fail! And Fail! I'm sending it back...Given the write up this knife was given by the OEM, I expected better fitment and workmanship... I don't think it's unreasonable to expect that a $160.00 fixed blade Tanto rival the quality of a folding Tanto selling for $100.00 less, do you? Yes, I know the blade steel is the big talking point here, but that does not excuse sloppy workmanship--not in my book. And I didn't exchange it because in my experience, this OEM runs batches of subpar knives on occasion, and I don't need another headache right now (see my "Critical Review" on the Cold Steel Espada XL (polished G-10 version).I may revisit this knife down the road, when another batch is run off and in inventory. I'd like to see the OEM fit this knife with Micarta handle grips, carved/ground to match precision jimping on the blade steel--do that, along with a little more pride in the workmanship, and they'll really have something here! I cannot confirm whether or not the sample I received would support a Volvo automobile, suspended from the handle tang, but I'm willing to believe that it could. The issue here is "execution" and "quality control".Note: This was something like the 25th Cold Steel Knife I've purchased to date, so I'm not unduly picking on the OEM. I have openly praised many Cold Steel Knives. Had this Warcraft Tanto sold for $75.00, I might have even kept it as a down and dirty working blade; but the sample I received has no place in my collection--I don't keep 3-Star Knives. A knife has to rate at least 4-Stars for me to add it to my collection; most are 5-Star knives. As always, Amazon had my back, making the return process as convenient and painless as possible for me.RayB

i am very pleased with this knife
i am very pleased with this knife. It was covered in a heavy oil, light grease, when I got it. feels good in my hand but the grip is a little on the small side. the plastic sheath is nice but the nylon belt loop part is flimsy, its not a stiff nylon like other sheaths i have. it retains the knife well with out needing to button the button loop around the handle.
