Don't wait, buy it!!!
Love, Love, Love this book. It was so insightful and spot on during my time of waiting. It encouraged me and is to this day getting me through this time of waiting in my life. If you are going through a season of waiting or you know someone who is buy this book. Elizabeth hits every mark, from your questions of why you may be waiting, to learning how to lean more into God and His word while you wait. This book would be great for someone waiting on a child, healing, a spouse or just life's great waiting periods. This book gave me great peace and comfort during my waiting period and I know it will do the same for many others!

So good!
I’ve been struggling through a divorce and now single-life and this book spoke to my heart. It not only gave me insight, but also peace about “the wait”.

Encouraging!
Well-written, insightful, and inspirational! I enjoyed reading this book for the wealth of spiritual knowledge and new insights/perspectives it gave me for all the "waiting seasons" of my life. Additionally, this book seems to focus a lot on "infertility waiting" (which I couldn't relate to, but had compassion for). If infertility is not one of your "waiting" issues, and you can look past all those references to grab the other jewels of knowledge this book has to offer, you'll be greatly rewarded. Read it and enjoy!

Great Practical Read For Those Waiting
I’m almost done reading this book and so far it’s truly helped me. I read it everyday while commuting to work on the train and it’s interesting enough that I’m able to tune out all of the outside noise and get captured in the words. The author’s writing style is very personable which I really appreciate. She expresses key issues that women experience during waiting that lets the reader know that she is human and we’re all human and it’s normal to feel certain thoughts that aren’t always mainstream christian during the wait.At first I was slightly worried that the entire book would focus on the author’s experience waiting to become pregnant (which I cannot relate to), but then she drew in other issues that women (like me) experience such as career challenges. The real life diverse areas of waiting that she covers allows the book to be more relatable and applicable to all women. She uses creative license at the start of each chapter to briefly paint a picture/scene of what Biblical characters might’ve experienced during their waiting season. Some might find this fictional element bothersome, but I was able to appreciate most of the stories. It’s no different than watching Bible Movies and she didn’t stray that far from what’s written. It was cool seeing how another woman imagines the rundown of how things happened while reading the Bible. It could be a fun way to read the Bible and make the characters more real

So Good So Needed
A book I did not know I was waiting for. I have read waiting books and they are not always my cup of tea. They can be condescending or a useless diatribe that goes round in circles. This is NOT those books. This book is encouraging and uplifting and funny. I would describe this book as a much needed conversation with a girlfriend over coffee as you laugh, cry, get angry, pout for a little, you get honest and raw but at the end of it all walk away stronger and equipped for what you are still going through. There are twelve chapters in this book, each tied to a character in the Bible who waited and their story. Now some of the characters we know and recognize their wait we know their story but some you may not recognize the wait or the journey of the wait but then you get into their story and you see it and recognize it. Each chapter ends with further reading (Bible verses for the character), Journal prompt(loved this) and Prayer prompt (Psalms). This book had me scribbling verses to look up and spend time with during my quiet time. Highlighting and taking notes. Shaking my head and nodding all at the same time. I love to journal and this book was a great catalyst for that, besides the journal prompts I just found myself working out and working through so many things. The author was real, sharing her own story along the way, encouraging us the reading while sharing in our journey.

Funny, insightful - and just the book I had hoped to write
I just started this book (I am at 6% on my Kindle) and already I am blown away by your ability to see into my heart and mind as I, too, waited on the Lord. For nearly 15 years I did exactly as you described and I had to laugh because it was as if you were sitting right beside me the whole time. My family and friends and church all prayed for me. I edited my prayers many times, just as you described, and I am sure there were addenda to many of them.Thank you; this is exactly the book I planned to write because, after 15 years of asking God to answer that one, specific prayer, He finally did. My supporters wept, they really did, when they heard about it, and one woman told me, "Remember, God is never late; He is always on time." Do I wish the Lord had answered my prayer more quickly - oh, absolutely! I believe, however, that God is logical and had a sane reason for my long wait. I know much of it has to do with my personal growth.Fifteen years into this journey, I have a testimony pretty much like Sarai and Abrams'. The difference is that, through the grace of God, I endured the long wait without 'jumping the gun'.Thank you for this wonderful, insightful and uplifting book. God bless you and yours.

Practical, Bible-backed, and thought-provoking
I’ve read several books on waiting recently and this one tops them all. The author shares personal hurts and stories but every word of encouragement is backed by Scripture, which she unpacks with fresh perspective that’s really spoken to me. This is one I’ll reread again and again. Where so many Christian books seem to talk about WHAT you should do but not how in the world to do it, this one offers practical steps.
