Engo Blister Prevention Patches - 2 Rectangles

Overpriced and hit and miss if they stay attached to your hiking boot
The price of these things is ridiculous. Way overpriced. Initially they perform well, mine were attached to the back on my hiking boots and were effective at first. The problem is that they start to peel off after only using a few times. Inserting the foot in and out of the boot, causes the patch to roll off at the top. This then becomes sticky and attracts dirt, fluff, etc, which then prevents the patches performing properly. Certainly not worth the price they charge.

Not sure how these work but they do.
New running trainers gave me blisters along the side of my foot. Stuck one of these inside the shoe and the blisters stopped- didn’t last long before it started to peel off. Second one in place now and will hopefully last a bit longer. Would be better for heel or more accessible part of shoe as its hard to get your fingers inside to place neatly.Would be 5 stars if there were 4 or 5 in a pack as these are way overpriced.

Kept blisters at Bay
Bought these for my wife before she did the coast to coast walk - these have been a revelation and kept blisters totally at bay! Will be buying again for sure.

Excellent Product That Works!
We went on a hiking trip to Scotland, and I was the least fit of the group. I often get a very large blister across the ball of my foot, which only forms at night but makes walking difficult for days. I was keen to limit injuries on this trip, so I looked for blogs about blister prevention, one of which mentioned this specific brand. These patches do exactly what they promise. They allow your skin to slip slightly against the lining of your walking boots, so that your skin doesn't have to absorb the friction and separate, forming a blister. I couldn't believe that I was able to enjoy 9 days of blister-free walking, taking full advantage of spectacular sunny weather. Yes, they're pricey, but I recommend these patches 100%.

Surprisingly, they actually work
I have a pair of DM boots that rub my ankles and I was doubtful that these would help, but as a last resort I gave them a go and miraculously, they work! It’s hard to believe something so simple could make such a difference. And because they’re so thin they don’t compromise the fit of the footwear. Positioning them in a boot is a bit fiddly, and they are already curling at the edges because it’s hard to pull the boots on without disturbing them, but they genuinely do a surprisingly good job. Would repurchase.

Something is afoot!
How do these work so well? I had my doubts when purchasing, seemed a lot to pay for 2 small stickers. However I was about to embark on a 120 mile coast to coast walk across Devon in April. Previous experience has shown the balls of my feet blister badly, and often within a days walking. I spent my last 70 miler hobbling with bandaged feet and bloody socks. So gave them a go. I have large feet, size 13.5 uk , so the two patches were just big enough to stick to my insoles and cover the problem area. If you have more human sized feet you could probably cut them to cover the heel area as well as underfoot. They were easy to apply, just peel and stick. Have to say they felt a bit weird at first. The Teflon like coating makes your feet slip ever so slightly just where the patches are, and it takes a bit of getting used to. However, in a nutshell, 120 miles later...no blisters, not one where the magic blue sticky things were. And they lasted. This was the first trip where I had ditched my trusty leather hiking boots and used lightweight trail runners...so my feet got wet, a lot. Yet they didn't peel off or fray or become wrinkled soggy lumps (unlike my socks). The science is simple, friction-less surface meets sock, sock slides easily, sock stays in position on foot and doesn't rub. And it works! Will buy again. Actually worth the price for their effectiveness. Just wish I hadn't spent £15 on unused blister plasters for the trip.

Impressive
As I was gluing these to the insides of my Doc Martens boots, I had a moment of doubt. The large rectangle was needed to cover the full area that had been rubbing my skin raw into a gaping wound, but it was also very awkward to fit into the nooks and crannies on the first try — which meant I had to inevitably unstick it and try again a few times. It also seemed to be made of a very thin material, which I thought was a bad sign. After some much needed adaptation in the form of small strategic cuts to the adhesive tape, I managed to do it... and the thing stayed on brilliantly even after all that sticking and unsticking! This genuinely protected me from another huge painful wound that would have taken a couple of weeks to fully heal like all those times before. Really recommend this product!
