I have purchased Gusti Leder products before and knew what to expect. This is a hand made leather product that has a nicely made but artisan feel. People I work with or alongside continually comment curiously about it. It is a natural leather product that you can tell was batch processed and has a lovely rustic feel. It has a beautiful weight and thickness to it and a lovely individual colour that reflects the natural texture of the hide. You can just tell that the more wear and tear it sustains, the more authentic and charming it will be. The quality of this product is excellent and the price tag is very very reasonable. I feel it is important to mention that this product is totally different from the usual kind of (normally very expensive) finished leather goods you might find on the UK high street. This isn't the kind of thing the CFO of Amazon carries reports around in (unless he is like me). It's the kind of product you will find vendors selling in far flung parts of the world when you are on holiday, not in the nearest NEXT.

Came across this when trying to buy a Cross padfolio and very glad I did. It's beautifully made in an artisan way so it doesn't look or feel vulgar-rich. And the smell is not an issue! So I'm grateful to the reviewers here who led me to it.UK buyers might like to know that the Black and Red A5 hardback professional notebook (96 sides/48 sheets of optic 90 gram paper, Ref K66206, usually 3 for 2 at Smiths) fits perfectly (of course you need to bend the covers of both objects together at the spine to fit it in!) and the folder will lie flat with the notebook inside after an hour or so with a book or something on top to flatten the covers together properly.I use it as home-made diary plus notebook combined.Very fair price for a product so attractive and so obviously handmade.

Purchased to use over A5 notebooks for work (I'm a salesman). I returned it because it was too big for A5 documents and not rigid enough. In summary I felt it didn’t look professional enough for me to use in front of clients. I didn’t notice a smell but it did leave ‘grease’ marks on a notebook I tried it with. Delivery and returns was no issue and I’d buy from the company again. I purchased an A5 leather notebook cover from Amazon / Torro which I felt like was better value for money and more what I was looking for.

As with all Gusti leather items, this is a thing of beauty - handstitched and a bit rough around the edges in a good way (i.e. it's not a machined piece of perfection but instead feels personal and unique).However, it is quite a bit larger than A5. You can see it in the picture with the notebook inside and the pens on top but there's at least an inch of extra space around an A5 notebook - and I'm using quite a thick hardback notebook. It's not really much of a problem but I would've preferred a slightly tighter fit.

My leather wrapper came today and I'm very happy with it. It's a perfect fit for the little A5 math notebooks I like to carry around with me which is what I bought it for. I'm finding that I can easily fit one into each of the inside pockets.The leather is great quality, looks fantastic, and is nicely stitched around the edges. This was the first time I've bought a Gusti Leder product but I'd be happy to look at their other items the next time I want something in leather.One caution though - my dog loves the smell of this and already tried to pinch it so if you buy one and have a dog be careful not to leave it lying within reach!

Very impressed!Was very concerned about this as other reviews with products by this company suggest an awful smell is present on these leather goods. However this smells great and has a real worn feel to it. Great quality.Four stars because besides all my praise I do think it's hopelessly over priced, but meh it looks nice....

I am really pleased with the more rustic look and feel of this A5 notebook cover, it looks robust and I think the colour and suppleness of the leather will improve with use. The securing flaps on either side are deep and useful for storing odd loose items and, I don’t know whether it’s a marketing ploy or not, but when I inserted my A5 notebook I found a short hand written message inside from the family who made it thanking the buyer! So, all in all, i’m happy 😃
