Very good
This is a very good book, right up my street. Our two heroes certainly have their hands full in this one that’s for sure. First book I have read by this author and I can tell you right now it will not be the last. Highly recommended

Plenty of action and mysterious creatures
Brent and Travis are back doing what they do best - hunting and fighting things that go bump in the night. This time, a whole town seem at risk and people are dying at an alarming rate. Add in the problem of imminent flooding and all roads to the town being blocked, Travis and Brent are in a fight against time.A great read, with plenty of action and mysterious creatures.I received an ARC of this book and am leaving an honest and unbiased review.

Friendship
The story starts immediately then slows, exploring Brent's and Travis's friendship. It might help to read the first book, but the book works as a standalone. The book is dialogue-heavy.I received a review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Action, Mystery, Horror
Gail Z. Martin hits the ground running in this urban fantasy mixed with plenty of action and mystery! Ex-priest Travis Dominick and former FBI agent and ex-military soldier Brent Lawson are back, this time trying to save a small mining town from a supernatural menace (or two). Martin always includes folk horror elements, which I love, and this time it’s a Shubin from Ukrainian folklore (“a mine spirit that often appears as an old man in a fur coat who walks the deepest tunnels”) – along with shadowy tulpas (hints of Twin Peaks) and hungry ghosts. My favorite urban fantasy character, Simon Kincaide from the Badlands series written by Martin under the pen name Morgan Brice, makes a cameo appearance to help Travis and Brent solve the supernatural mysteries. Highly recommended!

A page turning thriller from start to finish
Sinister organisations, were creatures, and things that hunt in the darkness, definitely seems like another bad day at "work" for Travis and Brent. Just remember to not think "what more could go wrong" because you will absolutely jinx them.Loved every second of this book and will be waiting for the next adventure.

About Time
No relationship, PG13. I loved Travis and Brent's first outing, and I'm glad to see them back. It's been too long! The second book is just as good as the first. There's plenty of action and likeable side characters. Nonna is a hoot! I liked that this book used unusual mythical creatures. I do, however, feel the title is misleading; C.H.A.R.O.N. plays very little role in the book.

The book is well worth getting and reading it.
You are taken on a journey that will leave you wondering are they going to be able to help people and get the ghosts to leave. This is where the story gets strange and exciting to read, the author did a great job with the book.
