Great budget masking tape.
The five individual rolls of tape you get in this set well see most jobs through. It's not quite up to the quality of the likes of tamiya, but it's no where near as expensive either, so it's a compromise rather than a down grade.I'd be more than happy to buy and use this tape again as it's served it's purpose well, but as others have said, just don't leave it on too long as it does have a habit of leaving a little resin behind.Other than that, top stuff.

Cheap and cheerful masking tape!
Cheap and cheerful masking tape! Cost only a fraction of any branded stuff out there and the best part is that it comes with so many varieties!

The Mask
Without doubt, painting battleships is a tricky business. This is not made any easier by the detailed and imaginative camouflage schemes that many countries adopted. In oder to paint even a relatively uncomplicated scheme one needs to plan, keep a steady head and hand and of course, for the larger ships of war, have in lots of masking tape. My favourite brand is Tamiya and they make excellent masking tape. It can and does work out pretty expensive, however. To this end I thought I'd try this offering from Amazon which is very good value and offers a super range of widths all with generous spool amounts which will no doubt be enough for several spray jobs to come.It is nice enough to use and does not have an unpleasant odour. It's easy to cut and to trim and goes on easily enough. You can see some of my efforts with the photo attached hull of the 1:350 Bismark. Keen eyes will see some bleed between the hull red and the black line and again between the black and the hull colour. The white of the spray pattern and the dark grey of the bow and stern designed to make it out to be a much smaller ship also caused problems with the white leaching a little. In addition as the masking tape was on for some days there was some sweating under the tape which has caused a slight watermark noticeable on the hull red especially. Mercifully this has improved a little by use of a small cloth gently wetted in a little acrylic thinner and wiped over the marks. I am hoping the final coat of matt seal will cover the rest of the marks. So, here below, if I may, are some thoughts. Not bad for the price.Make sure that you rub it down well when applying as it can lift over detail in the plastic. It does trim quite nicely in situ with very careful use of a very sharp knife, but exercise great care with this.Don't leave it on too long. Try to get all coats dry as soon as and then remove it.Don't panic if there are some marks as they may well lift to provide an acceptable finish. For really intricate work on expensive models that you really really don't want to do again consider paying more for say TamiyaFor more routine stuff or models that can be easily redone then this is not bad at all.For really large areas I wonder if Yellow Frogtape might work nicely and inexpensively. I'll try it, and report back.Enjoy

Great for motorbike helmets and fairings
Maybe a bit too adhesive as it can leave too much residue. Great for adding designs to fairings or helmets

Perfect for airbrush paint masks
Excellent adhesion with no paint-creep under the tape and no sticky residue left on the varnished surface of the kit.I used the tape to help mask off and spray the black lines on an Eduard 1/48 spitfire kit-see picture for the flawless results. As good as if not better than Tamiya tape, although that is just my opinion!

Horrible stuff
This tape looked like it would be great for my needs as it comes in a good array of sizes.I have LOTS of panels on a model spacecraft I wanted to mask off so I could spray it all, remove the tape and have different coloured panels.I spent a day masking off the individual panels, and sprayed the entire model.Next day I came to remove the tape. The tape was difficult to remove and to my horror left a sticky residue.I have subsequently spent weeks individually removing this residue with white spirit and cotton buds.I will NEVER buy this stuff again and I advise sticking to well branded modellers masking tape such as Tamiya.

Great tape
Really good tape for getting crisp lines without any bleeding through of paint. I use it for (art) painting. Sometimes can damage paper when you remove it, but other than that it’s really good tape.

Super Tape....
