VarilightClassic White, LED Dimmer Switch - V-Pro Series, 3 Gang (Double), 1 or 2 Way, 0-120W Watt (Trailing Edge)

Swapped out a faulty 3 gang dimmer. Took advice from electrician who recommended Varilight V-Pro series. This one is suitable for LED dimmable bulbs. We running 8 x ceiling dimming LED downlights, 4 x Island dimming spotlights, and 3 x under cabinet static LED strips. Easy to switch over, I am no electrician, just common sense, identify the L1 and common terminals (not in same position as old unit) and switch them over - 10 mins, job done.Soft start is nice feature, no humming or flickering.Really pleased with this item, worth the expense

We have had a 3-way dimmer in our lounge for at least 10 years now. It was fine originally, but as LED lights became more standard we suffered more and more from flicker of the lights. Mostly there was no flicker when on full brightness but flicker when dimmed. However, recently the flicker has become unbearable (perhaps because of voltage drop on the incoming supply or something). Even brand new bulbs were flickering on full brightness setting.So I took the plunge and bought this dimmer to replace the original. No problem with switching over, except the L1 and C terminals are the other way around to the original, so check carefully the labels on the old and new switches!Each dimmer is separately programmable, for dimming mode (leading or trailing edge) and for maximum and minimum brightness, through twiddling the knob and pressing the switch in a particular sequence. I've kept with the standard settings which work well with my B&Q bulbs.As a nice (or irritating, depending on your point of view) touch, the dimmer has a soft start which, on switch on, progressively increases the brightness over a second or so. The switch-off is immediate though.

Overall, this is a good product, but with a couple of drawbacks. The chunky faceplate looks dated and the "smart" feature that should allow you to set minimum and maximum levels of brightness is so fiddly and unreliable that I gave up trying to set it and made do with the factory settings.

Had a previous triple gang switch that failed. Have recently switched to LEDS. Easy to install if you remember to take photos of the wiring before changing. Soft start (1 sec to start). Can programme. No flickering or noise from either bulb or switch. Have bought a further 5 varilight v pros (3x 2 gang and 2x 1 gang).

This switch was easy to install and performs great, the LEDs do not flicker and I really like the soft start feature too. Being push on/off the switch comes on at the setting it as switched off at. It can be programmed to set maximum and minimum lighting ranges should you wish to do so.Only been fitted for a few weeks so unsure of long time reliability but I live in hope.

Bought to replace a 3 way dimmer that was causing the LED lights to flicker intermittently. It was a little difficult to fit because three wires needed to be inserted into the connection for 2 of the switchers and the screw connection is quite small but it is possible with care. Once the switch was connected, it works well, dims the LEDs and there is no problem with flickering any more.

This arrived without proper sealed packaging nor with instructions.It then transpired that it was only really suitable for around 6 LED lights on a single switch.

very bulky, but does the job

It works. But it requires retrofitting to US wall boxes.
