Works great
The app and the device both work as expected. It's a nice tool to have on the boat when our built-in anemometer intermittently malfunctions. We'd give it 5 stars but there is always room for improvement. Maybe make it so strong we could run it over with our car and/or make it float if we drop it in the water.

Fun acessory addition to i-Phone and great app
This anemometer and the associated app makes for interesting and fun expansion of the I-Phone. We frequently hike the California coastal mountains where the weather is unpredictable. The Vaavud anemometer installs in seconds and accurately reports wind speed and other useful metrics, then posts them to the map. Other hikers in the area using their Vaavud anemometer display their results in the areas they are walking or hiking. Useful if looking for a less windy area to hike. Also useful when sailing the coastal area here in Long Beach and San Diego area

The app for this product is no longer supported.
Looked like a cool item for the husband who has everything, but the app is no longer supported.

So far so good!
I work in aerial work platforms and this works great to monitor wind gusts. it's compact, durable and doesn't need it's own battery to work so never has a dead batt to keep you from using it. Will update review once I've had it longer but so far it's a great little device.Edit- had it a few months now and still works great!

Nifty
I love this little device. It needs at least 5 mph to get it going. But then it seems fine. A real center of attention, when you whip out your phone, pop this baby into the top and start measuring wind speeds ...

Three Stars
not as sensitive as I would have liked.

Problem solver for a small sailboat
No room for wind instruments on my sailboat, but this simple looking tool solves the problem. Haven't tried it in high wind situations yet, but it's easy to use and clearly accurate with even the slightest breeze. iPhone app is easy to use.

but a fun gadget.
Seems to work well with the free app. Not sure of it's accuracy, but a fun gadget.

Not easy to use on iPhone 6/7
I bought this wind meter for drone flights. The details day it will work with the iphone 6 or 7 but it needs to be plugged into the headphone jack which doesn't exist!!The customer support via Twitter was pretty vague, saying it would work by holding the meter near the middle of my phone but I've not managed to achieve this. When it does work (I plugged it into an old phone) the measurements are useful - wind speed and location. When you open the software it will state that you don't have the xyz (their latest product, name I can't recall) so you have to confirm use of this, the older model. The meter reading screen has a huge ad promoting the newer model which is a pain.Singing up to a free account will let you keep your meter reading history which is useful. Its OK but not cheap for the level of use and service that comes from it.
