Soda Fountain Malted Milk Powder, 16-Ounce (Pack of 3)

One of my earliest memories regarding food treats was the first time I tasted a genuine, soda fountain malted milkshake. It was delicious, and unlike anything I'd ever had at home. Throughout my youth, a great malted was a constant object of desire and a favorite beverage I truly valued. Having recently discovered this product, however, I find I can experience EXACTLY the taste treat I recall from so many decades ago. Terrific depth of flavor, and the genuine, soda fountain taste I treasured. So glad I found it. Accept no cheap, inferior substitutes: This is the real deal!

This is a tasty product, but I want to alert other malted milk lovers that this is not suitable for simply stirring into a glass of milk with a spoon. It does not dissolve as well as the Carnation/Nestle malted milk powder.It is perfect for drinks where you are using a blender to mix everything together, but if you just stir it with a spoon you will end up with malt powder floating on top of your drink.As far as taste, I think it does taste richer and more genuinely "malty" than the Carnation/Nestle product. There's a kind of bread/beer/bakery overtone in the flavor that makes it taste more old fashioned.

This product is just what I was looking for. All of the malt powders I looked at in the grocery store had way too much sugar resulting in too many carbs for me, I am diabetic, and craving a malt. I have a frappe machine to make coffee frappes. It will also make drinks not using coffee. I can make a drink without ice cream using ice, the malt powder, little milk, sugar free flavoring and end up with a big drink that has only 1 carb choice. Great tasting all because of this malt powder. Thanks!

I found the taste to be off-putting. I bought it to make malts in my blender. After trying it several times over the course of a week, the taste and after-taste seemed sort of weird to me. As much as I like to see small companies that serve niche markets do well, I have to give this item a thumbs down. I'll stick with the Carnation brand.

I remember as kid having malt shakes (back then it came in a 10lb tin from Carnation) and I wanted to relive that experience again but found the quality of Carnation/Nestle was not nearly as good as I remember.A few sites said that Soda Fountain brand blew all the rest out of the water so it thought I would give it a try.Its great in malt shakes and prob the best that I've found and its also very reasonably priced.It does contain sucrose (sugar) which surprised me as most other brands don't so this might be a deterrent for folks with diabetes or a sugar free diet.I prefer to add my own sugar into the shake or get the sweetener from the ice cream but I suppose its OK as its one of the last ingredients on the list next to salt and baking soda.5 star for the quality and great deal available on amazon (especially if you have prime w/free two day shipping)

Tastes like old fashioned soda malts! Best method is to put powder in glass, add a small amount of milk and stir, stir, stir! Let sit awhile and stir while adding rest of milk. Still get some of those malt "clumps" but the flavor is better distributed. Will buy again as this is my one treat for me.

I purchased this product because people said it was maltier than the Carnation production. This it may be, but to me its malty taste is overwhelmed by its sweetness, despite the fact that it is supposedly only 6% sugar, as to the much less sweet 5% sugar of the Carnation. I try to stay away from sugar as much as I can, so possibly I am more sensitive to its taste than are most people. Still, I won't buy this to me oversweet product again.

I bought this based on other reviews. My mother was telling me she really had a taste for malted milk, but could not find it in the stores. So, I found this on Amazon and bought it. Gave her a container for her birthday. She was thrilled! Also, she just loved the taste of it. She will even make a malt with just milk for breakfast!I tried it too and just enjoy that old fashioned flavor!
