Absolutely massive doll house
My first ever big ticket American girl item and was so glad to get free shipping here on Amazon. Let me be the first to say this thing is huge. The box arrived in terrible condition but the item itself only had some slight damage to the sofa bed portion of the frame that hopefully with care will not get any worse. Luckily I loved it anyway because it wouldn’t have fit in my car if I had decided no. This is the cutest dollhouse and is great for collectors, and spoiled (the good way) children alike!

Good enough
I recommend *not* reading reviews (especially incentivized ones) and instead, go on the internet y'all are already using and look up unboxing videos of this playset. You want to know what different materials are used, see what you may like or not like as each piece is opened, what looks sturdy or not, etc. There is still some bias in the unboxing vids, but they're way less slanted than just reading some crazed collector's exclamations in text and photos. What I liked: the wooden bunk bed, the colors, the designs on the outside (mountain views, faux stained glass). What I like less, but is still ok: the walls are mdf, not solid wood. Makes it slightly less dense (still 45lb tho!) which is both a pro (easier to move around) and a con (I'm worried about dents). What I dislike: The pretty views and stained glass, etc, are a laminate overlay. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend this set for smaller children who are a little more rough in their play, because the laminate will show wear. Also - - the amount of plastic components in general. For the price, there should have been more wood or mdf used. I'm hoping the "bones" of this product are an indication of more sustainable pieces in the future! We shall see. What I love: the play food and drinks are all culturally relevant to Corinne and Gwynn, but even if you don't have those specific dolls, it still opens up conversations about different cultures and ethnicities!Overall, I think this set on Amazon is slightly overpriced - but I was willing to order it now because these things tend to sell out when on sale. I'd rather pay MSRP than miss out completely, on a big item like this.**Important note: I ordered it here instead of the main AG site because AG charges a delivery fee! So you will save at least a few bucks ordering it here. Ditto if you need to return or exchange - you're not going to pay for any of that shipping over the base price of the item.**
