Got this to use on my car, needed to change the power steering fluid and the gearbox oil. It’s not bad for the money, and it managed to do the job. It didn’t leak, but it didn’t have the greatest suction power. I’d buy it again as it got the job done.

Handy bit of kit for jobs where you need to pull oil out cleanly without making a mess. The suction is strong, the plunger feels smooth, and the composite body is tougher than it looks. Great for gearboxes, diff oil, brake fluid changes and any awkward spots where a pump won’t fit. Easy to use, easy to clean, and doesn’t leak like some of the cheaper syringes do. Does exactly what you want it to and holds up well in a proper workshop environment. Solid tool for the price.

I bought this to refresh the power steering fluid on my car. I had originally started the job by using a glass turkey baster but it wouldn't squeeze past an awkward bend in the tank and I was worried about it shattering whilst in the tank, causing considerable expense and difficulty to have rectified in the current climate (Covid-19.) Having read some of the reviews, I didn't have high hopes for this pump but was very pleasantly surprised. It's certainly sturdy and well made and didn't leak at all whilst in use. I found what worked best for me was slowly sucking up the fluid from the tank and gently maintaining suction whilst withdrawing the hose from the tank to stop the fluid from running out , before squirting the old fluid into a container. By doing this, I found I could remove 99% of the fluid from the tank in one go, before refilling with fresh. Seven tank drains followed by a quick drive round the block and a tank refill, and the refresh was done. If you are using this suction gun for this purpose, DO unscrew the end caps and clean the metal suction seal before use as it will have a blob of grease on it, which you definitely don't want to contaminate your power steering system with! The end caps have compression seals on them so should only be gently tightened to create an adequate seal. Too tight and the seal will leak. Not particularly relevant to the suction pump, but I replaced Dexron 3 with Dexron 6 and the result is very noticeably smoother steering.

The quality is OK as expected from Sealy products. Leaked a little while using but easy to dismantle and clean Used for thick gearbox oil (shockproof lightweight) could only pickup 200mls at a time Supplied tube fitted in my gearbox and diff fillers although it could be a little longer Would I buy again? Probably if using with a thinner oil. fit and function as expected for the price

I used this to put the gearbox oil in my Dacia (access is a bit fiddly otherwise, but this enabled to fill it without ramps or a pit or without having to get under the car. It worked a treat as long as you had it all screwed together tightly of course. The suction was fine and I had the fresh oil topped up in no time.

This suction gun does the job well but I’d just wish the main body was made out of metal rather than plastic. Hope it can last a long time with many uses.

I bought this to syphon the oil from my lawn mower, it did what I bought it for, the only observation I would make, is maybe a clear plastic body with appropriate markings.
