Best for baking
Iโve used this product for baking for over 50 years. My cookies are in demand from family and friends. This makes the product light and crispy. If you are going to all the work of baking, use a top notch product for best results. Also great for pie crusts.

Oldy but a goody
My Mom used this, she called it 'lard'..She used it for pie crust, cookies, all baked goods .....yummiest everything!!Her fried chicken ๐ so good and deep fried anything......awwww the good Ole days!!They offer a butter flavor and original flavor. I use the butter flavor... just because, as long as I'm going for it.....?!๐I've never tasted it by the spoonful, I've tasted a little dab, honestly I didn't taste much difference between the two, the butter flavor is more expensive.I use it mostly for baking, I use half Crisco and half butter. The Crisco gives it a "fluffier" texture and the butter for flavor, and it seems to work well.Bottom line ...When you use it for fried anything, you will need at least half the tub, I don't reuse it again, but you probably can.It has a high smoke level. The cost....I have to say 10+ years ago it was at a crazy low price like $2-3 a tub, it's probably four times that now.I know inflation is fair and if you like it...you like it and buy it!! Yes I'd say try it!
