Mityvac MV8500 Silver Line Vac/Pres. Metal Pump Kit

It's fairly early days but, so far, 4.7 stars is fair in my opinion. The item comes well packaged in an external box. Inside the Mityvac is supplied in a useful plastic hard case which protects the contents well. Unfortunately, the clips and hinge are made from plastic too and so will probably crack and snap over time, but a flawed hard case is better than no hard case. The Mityvac 8500 hand pump is well made from strong metal (stronger than the 8000 plastic model). The handle is ergonomic and fits the hand well. The pressure dial appears to be accurate and the pressure/pump switch works well, as does the instant release valve. The included plastic items (pipes, bottle, connectors) are slightly cheaply made considering the units price, but they seem adequate and do the jobs asked of them. Overall, this is a superior item compared to the cheap pressure pump kits that are available. If you try to only buy quality tools, or plan to use a vacuum pump regularly, I recommend the Mityvac 8500.

Not bad arrived quite quickly to UK address and seems descent quality for the price. Plenty of tips and tubes etc. On critical seals check the mightyvac holds pressure on something similar and if not then check the internal seals and maintain as suggested and will be reliable. Wish it had a dummy spark plug with a hole straight through it, otherwise you'll have to make one that holds pressure obviously. Get some tire valves with threaded bottoms to be able to use on various things. On 4 stroke or bigger engines use mouth to suck majority of the air out and quickly attach the mightyvac to finish getting air out, otherwise you will be pumping it a long time to create vacuum.

Delighted with it, found a really tricky problem with the vacuum system on sons car which is what I got it for. Pulls and holds more or less full vacuum. Loads of handy little tubes and fittings in the case too. There were cheaper ones but this one is metal and I think will last a long time and as I said pulls full vac.

Very impressed with this unit, I bought strictly for vacuum testing rebuild engines but I’ve found many more uses. The quality better than I expected. The amount of accessories is great for just about any job you’d do with this tool. I’ve had about 3 cheaper ones that cost a fraction of the cost, all of them failed to some degree, this was 100% worth it for the quality and usage. Spend the money now, or you’ll spend more later.

I purchased this hand vacuum pump kit in order to vacuum and pressure test a chainsaw I am building. I had compared other options such as the widely sold sheet metal hand vacuum pump as well as other metal and plastic designs. I did not really want to pay a lot of money for something I only need to use for a few minutes at the moment so had some reservations about purchasing this pump kit, but after looking into the quality and reviews of comparable products I had serious doubts as to whether the generic sheet metal type would work at all and while I saw some good reviews of other Mityvac products I did not want to spend the extra money only to have a plastic model. For a slightly larger investment I decided to purchase this kit and am glad I spent the extra money. It seems to be well made, pulls and holds a good vacuum, appears to be accurate and I expect it will be something that will work for many years to come. In addition the kit includes a variety of block off plates, silicone (I think) rubber adapters and block off plugs and a number of hose fittings and (2) ~16inch long sections of tubing. Due to the cast alloy material I would be somewhat hesitant to use this with anything corrosive to Zinc alloys as I suspect it would damage the metal. I have seen a number of scientific companies relabeling this product and selling it for a significantly higher price which is why I mentioned corrosive chemicals. Zinc alloys can reacts with both acids and bases so I would certainly avoid use with such chemicals. The included users manual details a wide range of automotive uses which I will certainly try out in the future. I have not used it beyond playing around with it to test it and attempting to vacuum test my Chainsaw case after installing new crank seals. I seem to have a major leak where I attempted to block off the intake manifold so I have not yet been able to successfully use it for its intended use. I do however believe it will work ideally for this use. It has a valve which allows you to switch between pressurization and vacuum action and the dial reads in both negative and positive ranges. It also has a pressure/vacuum release located under the selector valve. I am glad I made the extra investment in this product versus other makes and models of similar tools and believe it will be a good tool to have around for a variety of uses for a long time to come. If I were buying for scientific/lab use I would however consider the plastic version due to my previously stated suspicion that corrosives might seriously damage the item.

Siendo mityvac sólo se podía esperar calidad y es lo que ofrece. Cuerpo en aluminio maletín con accesorios todo de buena calidad. el reloj se puede girar en cualquier dirección. Lo único que tiene es una palanca por debajo del cuerpo para descargarla la cual es fácil de tocar sin querer y descargarla. Pero se puede quitar fácilmente.

これのおかげで、億劫だった四輪車のエア抜き作業が楽しく(?)さえなりました。 実際はブリーダープラグのネジ山からエアを吸ってしまうので「やめ時」が判りづらいのですが、 プラグの根元に配管工事用の液体シール(粘土でも良いかも)を盛ってみたら、良い感じにフルードが吸引できました。 ポンプは加圧/バキューム両用でアタッチメントも各種付属しているので、他の用途にも色々使えそう。 他の方も書かれているようにメーター付きなのはとても便利。ケースも整頓しやすく考えられています。 中国製ですが作りは良く、プラ部品も品質粗悪な感じはありません。
