LAVA Lamp Metallic, 14.5-inch, Yellow/Blue, Aluminium

Brought two of these as gifts for someone, very nice when set up, takes a long time to start working though.

Really cute lava lamp, I like that its not as gloopy/slow moving as other ones I have had in the past. The gel splits up really nicely and makes it nicer to watch

You get what you pay for. It's loosely based on the Mathmos lamps and this lamp is a nice addition to the home.What I have noticed is that they REALLY are not meant to be in operation for long stretches of time. One reviewer mentioned that the blobs floated to the top and no longer do anything, I have found that mine does that too, and all it needs is about an hour to cool down.Someone mentioned about not to shake them, yes, I shook mine, the clear liquid part went cloudy, but after another day just being left on, the fogginess cleared up.The wax blobs in my lamp, the "lava", floats up much faster then the ones in the Mathmos lamps, and do not form the weird shapes, but rather for roundish blobs. Then they eventually form into a big blob that stay at the top, and need to cool down for the convection to restart.It's okay as a decoration, but adjust your expectations. It's not a Mathmos.Edited to add: Dropped one star after the lamp had completely failed after just 3 months. The original bulb blew within the first month, and it is on the second bulb, which had just blown. It was the fuse and for such a simple device to fail after such a short time after it was bought is not very satisfactory.Edited again to add: After a year and a half of ownership, the wax has now completely failed and only floats to the top in ugly lumps, and the liquid is no longer clear. Sadly this is now easically chemical and e-waste. Dropped another star down to one star.

I bought this as a birthday present for my dad in late July,Arrived early august around august 3rd my dad has only used it 3 times for less than 8 hours at a time and the wax split and broke and is no longer working.

Dangerous. After two days use (2hours max on first night) after five mins on second night just now I could smell string burning smell... Looked around and saw that the heating element or something is in the lava!!! Very dangerous who kno s what would have happened if I had gone into the kitchen for longer!! Have emailed Amazon due to health and safety concern. Certainly don't want replacement

I’m not happy with that lava lamp doesn’t look like lava. My son scare he said is like alien
