I believe that the grey seal is made for stainless steel pans & another colour (black?) is produced for aluminium. I checked with the Prestige web site but could not find a reference to colour. When ordering from Amazon I am sure the colour was stated in the description of the replacement gasket. Hope the may be of some help.
