Once the larvae enter the pupa phase of their life cycle they enclose themselves in a cocoon of raw silk; some 300 to 900 metres long. To prevent the emerging moth damaging the delicate silk weave the woven cocoons are boiled; killing the silkworms and making the cocoons easier to unravel. Once unravelled just the original silkworm pupae remains - high in protein, low in fat and a great source of essential fatty acids.

I’m a Celebrity Bushtucker Challenge Game
I made a I’m a Celebrity Bushtucker Challenge game for my Niece for Christmas as she’s a massive fan of the show. I brought these along with a few other edible bug items and they went down a complete success, didn’t even come back up either!!! LolThese were gross looking but tasted ok, my Niece and her friends had real fun playing the game and eating the bugs. Only slight complaint is you don’t get much for the money but otherwise brilliant. Would highly recommend!
