A fantastic replacement for a battered key
I just picked up a used 1 series and was a bit dismayed to see that both keys were really battered, with one of the badges missing and both covered with gouges and scratches. I'd seen videos of these being replaced and for £10 thought I'd give it a go - These are just as good as OEM, and unlike OEM, aren't sealed so no cutting to get them open - I immediatley ordered a second.Installation was a piece of cake, took about 2 mins to open up the existing keys and retrieve the boards, and no damage was cause, both keys work perfectly in their new cases.I haven't found a locksmith willing to cut the blanks as yet, Timpson's won't cut blanks they haven't supplied and an independent said they wouldn't rust their cutter on unknown metals - but these also fit the existing key blades, just not as positively. As others have mentioned, these don't come with the badges, but the OEM ones for an E90 3 series fit perfectly - part no. 66122155754

Looks like the real thing!
When I bought my car a couple of years ago one of my keys looks brand new the other looked battered and was clearly never looked after. Although I house my key in a sports silicone case so you can't see the key itself I always wanted to have a key fob in good condition. This looks almost identical to my BMW Fob with these slight differences (pictured).- The red is lighter than the original.- The car looks slightly different.- The surface has a grainy feel to it and isn't smooth.- The lock logo is slightly different. At a glance you wouldn't notice the difference though. It's fairly cheap however,- You will need a BMW logo sticker which for an official one will cost you nearly as much as the fob. (part no. 66122155754, thanks Andy F)- You will need to get the key cut (price unknown). However, your current one will slot into the new housing so if it's still in good condition I would advise to do this.Average Cost from BMW to replace a fob is around £150. Other Garages are around £80. I could find key cutting for £10 so if you want this and the sticker and the key cut it will cost you around £27.Installation is easy enough, you can find videos on YouTube, it comes with no instructions. All in all I am impressed how good it looks and feels and to look at them without being side by side you would never tell.

Fits as expected
A bit heavier than the original key, but it fits as expected. I used this on the F46 2 Series.
