MG Chemicals 425-NS No Clean Super Wick Desoldering Braid, 0.075" Width x 5' Length

I used a suction pump before but this is so much better. Just put it on the solder joint, apply the soldering iron and it just sucks up the solder. Brilliant, will definitely buy again

I've had quite mixed experiences with solder wick before, it's performance matters a lot to me as I hand solder fine pitch SMD parts quite regularly. I thought I would try MG Braid as I have heard good things about it, and I couldn't get the Soldamop I usually use quickly enough. This has turned out to work very well, and the nice big reel will last a while even at the rate I use it!

Did the job - melting and lifting old solder in a delicate operation on the electronics of my key fob, which had a broken rechargeable battery. left the area ready to solder in a new one. All good. Star deducted because it wasn't as efficient as expected.

As a hobbyist / semi-professional making and repairing audio effects and hi-fi I've had several brands of braid through my hands and have struggled to remove a component without tearing the printed circuit track or ruining what might otherwise be a reusable component. THIS braid is so utterly easy. I haven't a clue why but it's effortless - it could be because it's slightly thinner than 'standard' braid. The fact is, having tried a reel I decided to buy this box of 10 reels because I can't see myself changing to a different brand now. It's making hobby life so much easier.

I've bought several cheaper desoldering wicks on here that claimed to be pre-fluxed but weren't - they just don't work very well, and are too tightly braided, so even if you add flux, they still don't wick up the solder properly but just stick to the surface. After a PCB track got ripped up by one such wick, I decided I'd had enough of cheaping out, and got a roll of this MG Chemicals Superwick. The difference is incredible. It's well coated in flux, and the braid actually has room in it for the solder, so it soaks it up very effectively, and comes away without sticking, leaving completely clean pads. Wish I had got it sooner.

I was using wick I bought from CPC made by Multicore before this one, and that worked okay but I would have to soak it in liquid flux to get it to do it's job probably. This one is much higher quality, it's got better flow with its flux and I don't even need to add more flux to it (but more flux doesn't really hurt). This thing just sucks up solder without me having to turn up my iron and flood it with flux, would recommend!

Simply a must for repairing circuitry. Good amount provided, great quality, soaks up solder like a sponge!

i hadn't used desoldering wick before this, and it's magical. not sure how this compares to the competition, but it certainly works very well.

Very expensive for the amount you get but it works great. Much better than the other brand solder wick I had.

This is the best solder wick ever. It's a little expensive but easily worth it in time and projects/components saved.
