Had to return
Unfortunately the item did not stay inflated and i had to reinflate 3 or 4 times per night so had to return the item. my son in law who recomended the item has two and they are both fine, however, he also had to send 1 x back after experiencing the same problem but the two he has now are fine. I will try again as the item was light took up little room in my backpack and was easy to inflate and was comfortable while inflated. Hopefully better luck next time.

Great value
Okay, well to start. It inflates easily, takes about 5 minutes to pump it up. The stopper is a bit misleading as it seems to be closed but needs and extra press to get it fully closed, that may be why a couple of reviews have said it does not hold air all night. Once the stopper is properly closed it holds air well, I am tall so the length is good and the pillow is comfortable. The material isn’t too slippy and is pretty quiet and the support is good when lying on my back. The space between the air pockets is a little wide so it isn’t brilliant for side sleeping. Deflating is easy and it folds down and goes back into the bag nicely. It comes with an elastic aged strap for packing. Time will tell if it lasts but if I can get a couple of seasons out of it then it will be fine.

Easy to inflate. Keeps its shape well. Good width.

Great, compact roll mat!
I think this roll mat is great! It's the most comfortable roll mat I've ever had. Inflation is easy ( taking no more than a minute and pumping up a lot) and deflation is effective. It folds up easily, and I was able to fit it in my hand luggage on a plane. The only critique I would have is that if it were to get popped there is nothing apart from air inside so you would be sleeping on the floor unlike traditional self-inflating roll mats( that have a layer of foam or foil).I was sleeping on a cold tile floor and due to the lack of insulation through the mat I did get a bit chilly. However I would definitely recommend !

Excellent value for money.
I bought this sleep pad for my son to take away on his Duke of Edinburgh expedition, he's over six feet tall and quite well built so the yoga mat style really wasn't going to be sufficient. I'm 6'2" and am closer to a rugby player than a marathon runner in build, so I knew if I was comfortable on it then it would be fine for him.First things first; it comes in a protective storage bag and includes not only instructions but also a repair kit and an elastic band to keep it rolled up.Inflating it with the built in pump is easy, but it does take some time, a good two or three minutes of pumping after which you just push the stopper in to the pump and that's it - easy. The trickiest bit is keeping the stopper out of the pump while you're pumping as it's on a fairly short lanyard, but that's as hard as it gets. It can also be inflated from the pillow end if you have a pump with a larger nozzle rather than the narrow ones you would use for something like a pool inflatable. When it was fully inflated it was still perfectly adequate in size for me to lie on without feeling like I was going to roll off the side or was hanging off the end, and although I'm fifteen and a half stone it kept me comfortably cushioned from the floor. No sleeping mat is silent in use and this is no different, but it's certainly quieter than most at anywhere near this price point.Deflating it is very straightforward; simply remove the stopper from the pillow end and fold in the sides lengthwise and roll it up from the pump end (the foot end). This squeezes out the air as you roll it up and once you pop the elastic band back round it it goes back in to the storage bag without any wrestling as you sometimes get with more budget orientated camping gear. The fact it has poppers down one side so you can attach two together for a double bed pad is a really nice little feature. My son (who is definitely not a born outdoorsman!) slept all night without getting too cold from the ground and had a far better experience than his fellow DoE campers who were using yoga mat style pads. It's probably lighter and definitely smaller than a yoga mat style pad as well and I would consider the extra money to be very much worth it.I'm very glad I decided to give this a try and I know even if my son doesn't go on any further expeditions, I will certainly be using this in future.

Went down first night of use
I really like the idea and the size is good for me. I tested it at home and all looked well it stayed inflated over night (without sleeping on it), but once I took it camping again looked fine but I woke in the night and it was losing air unfortunately.A shame as the size and weight for hiking was very good.

Not really ‘self’ inflating.
Not like other self inflating as you have to pump it with internal foot pump. My son complained like you wouldn’t believe but still good quality and ensured he did some exercise
