TomTom Car Sat Nav Go 620 (6 inch, Updates via Wifi, Traffic via Smartphone, World Maps, Capacitive Screen )

I bought this Satnav because I was visiting Australia. I have used the Satnav in Ireland and Australia. It is an excellent product. It is easy to use. The maps are accurate. It is easy to maintain the device up to date and to switch between the global-regions maps, i.e. easy to switch from W. Europe to Australia and visa versa. I found the route-planning software really useful. I bought the global maps software, however these expired a few weeks after I got it (so I had access to Western Europe maps only). It took me some time to figure out how to get in contact with TomTom support, to get the World Wide map capability restored. I could not find any TomTom telephone number to call or an email address and it seemed I was in an endless loop with the chatbot who could not help. I got access to TomTom support through the chatbot. I asked the chatbot for TomTom support email. The chatbot did not provide me with an email address but it provided me with a means of communicating with somebody in TomTom support. My "email" was done in the normal Chabot dialogue window. This process was confusing and frustrating. I sent an image of the box and briefly explained my problem. My account / satnav was fixed / updated immediately. This solution was available all the time to me, but it was not clear to me. It's an excellent product and I would have no hesitation in recommending it and buying it again.

I got this for travelling abroad. I would recommend getting the 6in which is the size of this model. It just makes it so much easier to see where you need to be on the road for exits especially on motors. It is very annoying on small screens which is why this time I got this bigger screen. It looks beautiful and feels like it would be in a luxury car. All updates are via Wifi which is great compared to when I had to plug it into my laptop and find my passwords to login to my accounts etc. This means the tomtom should be updated much easier etc. The touch screen is responsive and can zoom in and out with 1 or 2 fingers like in apple phones but it is still no way as good as a modern phone. Menus are more or less easy to understanding but you still have to go into and out to find out where certain items are stored. The app you can download allows you to also search for your destination and then send it to the tomtom when you get in the car and then just accept. Very nice feature. Great overall sat nav that I am sure will keep me happy for years to come.

It is a very nice Sat Nav, first time I have had a 6 inch screen, massive compared to my old one which is 4 something inches. Fantastic value as t has lifetime MAPS, TRAFFIC and SPEED CAMERAS. Not to sure about the way for downloading and that is WiFi, I know it should be safe, but preferred it through my PC as my anti-virus and malware software scanned it and made sure it was clean, have had them pick up before and stopped the download, not sure if it would happen via the WiFi or not. Touch screen gets a bit of getting used to. Also points of interest etc are quite different to my older Sat Nav, would like the likes of Cemeteries and churches easier to find, as it didn't do it so far, for a funeral. Apart from that, seems pretty accurate so far, not taken me down any country tracks. Has rerouted for heavy traffic a couple of times, so that was certainly a bonus, old model didn't. Would I buy again, certainly will use TomTom again, probably on my next upgrade as I have been with TomTom for a considerable time now.

I really appreciate how good this GO 620 is compared with the awful Go Discover I purchased a few days ago and subsequently returned straight away due to problems and overall disappointment in the map quality, not to mention the inflated price. Anyway, back to the 620. As with other models of the same TomTom generation, this has a lovely clear map that can be customised by choosing one of the colour schemes available (I particularly like "Party Pink" because the planned route using that colour forms a nice contrast with the background colours of the map). Other real plus points over the GO Discover are speed cameras for life [of the product] and hands-free calling from a paired mobile phone (not having that feature was the final nail in the coffin for the GO Discover in my case). Also, compared with Garmin sat navs (which I have also owned in the past), the spoken directions are much more precise, as they also include the road numbers (if applicable) as well as road names. That feature alone is very useful on complex roundabout junctions (no point in being told to take the 3rd exit down "High Street" if the road lane markings and signs only have road numbers and destinations, as I found to my cost before moving to TomTom devices. I've only knocked off a star because in common with other sat navs, the TomTom devices cannot be instructed to avoid those nasty single-track country lanes and despite forums users moaning about it for many years, TomTom has not addressed the issue as far as I am aware.

Great design. Amazing value for money. Solid build quality. Comes with everything you need. Simple to use. Big clear, bold display. Easy to read & to follow road route on display. Great size. Clear, advanced spoken instructions. Would always choose & 100% recommend TomTom.

Great Satnav, easy to navigate features, displays a great amount of information, clearly and Quickly. Was debating whether to go for the "go 520" or the "go 620". So glad I went for the 620 the bigger screen is so much nicer. This satnav actually works on round about and lanes, road positioning on the display is surprisingly accurate. and doesn't lag! Voice control works best within arms reach, any further and it will struggle. Still haven't quite got the hang of using all the voice control commands. Particularly trying to select a new destination whilst on the move I still find myself typing it in. Speed camera alert pin points exactly where they are, shows you on the screen when they are coming up. super handy. The magnetic mount is super strong so have no worries going over rough grounds, defiantly one of the best mounts I've used.

Bought this as sadly my old tomtom was starting to slow down after doing a lot of research I opted for this model as I dont need a laptop to update the system as it has it's own built in wifi the other selling points were the fact it has lifetime map and speed camera updates and European maps Set up was easy and quick Also impressed that it can be linked to my phone so phone calls and texts messages can be recived via the sat nav After testing it out on a short journey I am more than happy that I picked the right model it was reasonably priced yet I fell like I got so much more than I expected to get for the money

I've been a loyal TomTom user since they first launched. This is the most troublesome unit ever. The interface and features all look great. I like the WiFi connectivity. The screen is large, clear and the touch functions are great with my fat fingers. The sucker mount seems to really grip well onto the windscreen. So why the 1-star rating? Well, on its very first outing, a few miles from home, it crashed. On restarting I was informed there were no maps installed and couldn't get past a page declaring I had to purchase them again. Luckily I had my iPhone and navigated with that (probably illegally but what else could I do). A quick Google confirmed I needed to install MyDrive Connect and reload the maps. All sounds so easy? Well two hours in, several computer reboots and reinstallations of the PC app later, and it (the app) still doesn't have any menu options - just the logo and nothing to the right of it as shown in the TomTom help pages. By complete accident I discovered that closing the app, then plugging in TomTom whilst it is turned off, takes me to a hitherto unseen screen on TomTom which offered the opportunity to reinstall a map (without having to pay, haha). I opted for UK maps - that's where I live - and after some 30 mins its reached 38% download. Now my internet isn't lightening fast (standard broadband so around 1.5mbps download speed) so it can only be the TomTom website causing the delays. If this doesn't work, the whole thing is going back to Amazon and I'm buying a Garmin. Update (28/2/2018) - after several failed attempts, I did eventually get the UK map to load which took several hours on a normal (5mbps) broadband connection - painful. Now the unit is operating, I’m loathed to update anything else for fear of wiping the maps again. It does now do the job of getting me from A to B to C, avoiding jams etc. I switched off Bluetooth as it was competing with my car for the attentions of my phone. Also selected the advance (step-by-step) address search as the quick method allows post codes but no chance to select house numbers. Even so, it took me to completely the wrong place on a trading estate where the unit I needed was the other side of a dead end road!! So better, not perfect, and I’ll keep my new TomTom as too busy to change it again. I’m loathed to add new maps before a trip overseas next week, but fingers crossed, which shouldn’t be necessary. TomTom - get your download connections speeded up of simplify a way of downloading then installing offline please.

Muy bueno, si no viene instalada la voz de ordenador "Monika" ponte en contacto con el soporte de TomTom, les cuentas tu problema y ellos te lo solucionan sin problema (a mi me ha ocurrido). Esa voz es muy importante para uasarlo al 100%. Es un buen navegador, lo recomiendo.
