Bought as a gift , nicely presented in a happy birthday box , great idea for any coffee drinker , looked like good size pouches of coffee to try , good for price !

This Brown Bear Gift Set has several positive virtues from the 5% donation to rescue Asian bears to the beautifully presented box. It is also a great chance to offer a coffee loving friend the opportunity to sample six different offerings without them having to splash a considerable sum on one they might not like. The box includes 6 bags containing 60 g of quality coffee beans and so they will need a grinder and the skill to find the tolerance which will suit whatever kind of machine they have-it will work with anything from a moka pot to an aeropress to a cafetiere. The strength rating of the six varies from 3 to 5 meaning most coffee lovers will find something that appeals unless you like your coffee very mild and in the background. For me, it was no surprise that my favourites were the two which are 100% Arabica namely Real Colombia and Sweet Brazil because although they are both different they share a common depth of flavour with a balanced set of notes such as you only get with single bean. I was less keen on the Breakfast blend which simply doesn't pack enough punch or intensity for me in the morning , but this is all a matter of personal taste. Cappuccino lovers should try the Mambo Italiano beans which are great with milk based coffees. The elephant in the room is the price-this is not a lot of coffee for your buck. Twenty pounds for 360 g of beans works out at well over 50p a cup. Having said this the gifting potential and ethics of the box are strong so it still deserves consideration.

The nice and attractive package with six samples of different coffee beans with different strength can be a very good gift for any coffee lover specially on their birthday as the package itself shows so. The varieties are excellent and specially useful in case you want decide what coffee beans you would love to have for day to day coffee. The coffee bean quality is excellent. The smell is tempting and the flavour is ultimate. I could use them fine with my coffee machine. I would have expected these samples at cheaper rate as samples are ways to tell customers what we can offer so that they can try these out at reasonable cost but it's the other way round. I checked every coffee individually and the sample costs double the price which is not ideal.
