Fluke always trusted
To Be honest I have always favoured Fluke and this is a great replacement to my old and battered 20 year plus meter (Also Fluke).I have paired it up with a generic magnet mount (The fuke one looks nice but at Fluke prices not that nice) and the system all works well.I do like the probes.When you are doing a quality job on site it does matter to convey professionalism to the casual observer and part of that is actually looking the part yoou do not get the same gravitas from a cheaper £25.00 chinesium brand.

High quality electrician's or tinkerer's multimeter
A good electrician's multimeter, well built as you'd expect from a Fluke. Doesn't have a milliAmps or microAmps range, so not ideal for electronics use, I ended up buying the 87V later, but now I have two very nice Fluke meters! A good meter for electrical work or just to have in the car or the toolbox. The 117 has NCV no-contact voltage detection, so you may want to pay a little extra for the next model up in the range.Feels really nice to use, it's heavy and solid like a Fluke should be, range selector can be operated with one hand using the thumb, display is big, clear and easy to read. Comes installed with a 9V battery. Mine came with some nice silicone leads.

Possibly your best MATE??
I bought this for my nephew, I still have mine on the bench! 38 years later! It is I must admit MINE is very scared! Many years in the Rock &!Roll years! I did find the new model very easy to use and worked well! I just TRULY HOPE he uses it ! As much I DO!We can only hope that the younger generation embrace the hard work of the road crew and lamp crew of the modern stage craft!!

Buy it if you can afford
I had a cheap analog multimeter for years before deciding to get a digital. I didn't think I need a Fluke because I would use it mainly at home with simple measurement. So I ordered a Extech 550 (from amazon) and I had to return it because it is slow (take almost 1 sec to get the continuity beeping) and not accurate. Moreover, the Extech screen was bad at angle and no backlit. And why they don't make it compatible with a magnetic strap?Then I ordered a Amprobe 520 and canceled because I found a detail youtube video review it, same annoying thing, slow, bad screen at angle.Finally, I pulled the trigger and go with this Fluke. I think I don't need to describe its good point, what is better than a Fluke anyway.
