Looking for an Upgrade? Buy this now. Do not use a "beginner" grinder any longer. Life is too short.
Excellent coffee grinder. I upgraded from the Baratza Encore grinder that I've been using for the past few years. I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner... I've only used it to grind beans for my drip coffee machine over the past few weeks. Never has an upgrade ever been so massive, especially considering that the Baratza Encore is a well-respected beginner grinder. Sure it costs more, but boy is it worth it across so many metrics. Biggest improvements that I care about: 1) This is so much faster. I can't believe how much faster. 2) This is so much quieter. I can't believe how much quieter. 3) This makes so much less of a mess. No more static coffee grinds blasted everywhere. Easy clean up with a damp cloth afterwards. 4) This grinder looks so much better and takes up slightly less space. 5) It automatically turns off after running out of beans. Holy cow. Of course it is so fast, that I'm never tempted to walk away and run other errands. I admittedly don't have a fancy palate, so I don't notice that my actual coffee tastes better. But it might. But my point is that the other improvements make this something I can't believe I didn't do a long time ago, and at the very least the coffee is just as good.

1.5 Years Later - Strong Recommendation
Very glad I stretched the budget. This is a properly premium product that doesn't compromise performance for a luxurious design and high quality materials. I've used it daily for 1.5 years and strongly recommend if you can swing the price. Pros: High quality metal build Sophisticated aesthetic Uniform grind Excellent workflow - Quick - Quiet (for what it is) - Auto stop - High quality touch points (clicky dial, metal knocker, etc.) - clever grind guide on back of lid Anti-static does a good job with retention (see cons) Never chokes / stalls (buy freshly roasted beans!!!) Compact footprint Cons: Can't grind for espresso Pricey Retention if you don't clean regularly (brush included, cleaning is simple)

Simply a great coffee grinder (but not for espresso). Clean in use, consistent and even fairly quiet
Summary - If you grind for filter coffee, french press/cafetiere or pour over this is a great coffee grinder. The 31 grind settings let you get the best grind for your coffee beans. It is relatively quiet and very clean in use. The ioniser technology really works if you keep it clean. It does jam occasionally if you flood the hopper with coffee but this is rare and easy to fix. It doesn't grind fine enough for espresso and Fellow do say this very clearly. If you want great coffee for filter machines, and so on and can afford it this is exactly what you want. Highly recommended. The Good - It is clean in use. Coffee goes in the collection pot and not over the kitchen. It is quick and fairly quiet. The hopper feeds coffee into the burrs reasonably well and if you don't overload it, the machine will be jam free. It's easy to clean and they include a brush to clean the chute and ioniser. There is even a simple guide on the lid of the hopper to help you find the perfect grind. Each step of the settings represents 25 microns (approx 1/1000th of an inch) change in burr gap. The indifferent - The collection cup lid rattles a bit. It doesn't bother me but all reviewers mention it. It can be a bit hard to get all the coffee out of the collection pot and the magnet in the base also can trap ground coffee if you don't shake it. Again, not a real problem but it may bug you. The bad - Er, nothing really. It irritates me that I have to scan a QR code to get the third year of the warranty. I threw this card away and will rely on the 2 year warranty. Fellow don't document everything. They give you a brush but what's that for? Is the answer in the documentation? No. Is it on the website? Er, not that I can see. More seriously this will jam if you aren't careful. This is mostly a user problem. If you put 60g in the hopper in one go it is likely to jam. If you scatter beans all around the grind aperture then it can jam. Changing your habits a bit can totally stop the problem. Apparently this can be calibrated by following a video on Fellow's website. SHouldn't it come calibrated? Conclusion - This is a great coffee grinder. I have used it for filter coffee, grench press and pour over. A little bit of experimentation lets you "dial-in" the right grind for your taste. It is easy to use, clean, quick and relatively quiet. If you clean out the chute with the brush once a week it is easy to maintain too. This is all the grinder I need. It's made a huge difference in the quality of the coffee I drink and allowed me to play with lots of different coffees and get great results. Highly recommended.

This product is very well designed, engineered and produces a good grind with the supplied flat burrs. Its a bit more expensive than the Gen 1 version but regarded in reviews as significantly better. Since I lack an expresso machine the inability to grind fine enough for that is not an issue, but it would be if that is your preferred coffee extraction method. For all other methods and for coarse does to medium/fine, it is very good indeed.

A nice compact coffee grinder. Very easy to use, quiet compared to others that I have used. Grinds very quick and accurate. This has to be one of the best that I have owned. Would certainly recommend. Also such a small footprint on the worktop.

I need to grind fresh coffee daily, and I needed a machine that was quiet, efficient and didn't leave a mess. I have waited a month before reviewing this product. I love the fact that there is no static. The coffee grinds 6 heaped spoons in about 20 secs. Quiet and perfect. It's not a cheap machine, but I am really happy I spent the money. Love the magnetic part for the container. The only minor thing, a few times, the coffee has got stuck in the hopper. But a light jiggle and it's fine.
