works great--able to spread 1/2" solid steel bars on a bike rack
Had a bike rack that had bars too narrow for my mountain bike's 2.3" tires. Was able to put this unit between the bars (sold steel) and spread the bars about 0.75" to fit the wider tires in the bike rack. I positioned unit in area shown circled in red in picture and was easily able to spread bars by about 0.75"
