Semi Cured Gel Nail Strips (N Bare Plum)

I’ll start by saying I am new to nail strips, and I typically HATE having my nails done. Historically, I have found that getting my nails done (or even doing them at home) to be a huge waste of time and money, not to mention a big headache. I stink at painting my own nails, they chip within hours, press-ons look nice but snag like crazy, the prep and precautions take an hour and some serious planning ahead…. And then there’s the inevitable nail damage that takes near a month to correct. All of that, and we haven’t even covered what tasks you can actually accomplish without worrying if a nail won’t break, crack, or pop off completely. As I said…. I’m not a huge fan in general. BUT THEN, I finally decided to try nail strips. Specifically, Ohora nail strips. I honestly only tried them because they seemed like an easy application, and my grocery store had a starter kit with the UV light for $12. I figured, why not? I’ve read a lot of reviews discussing concerns about damage, prep time, and then them not lasting more than a week. THIS HAS NOT BEEN MY EXPERIENCE. My first strips lasted a little over two weeks and would have stayed on longer, but I was ready for a new color. Did they have some lifting around the edges? Yes. Did they snag my hair when washing in the shower? Yes. BUT I 100% did not apply the strips exactly as I probably should have, especially being my first attempt with a totally new type of product. I will also point out that I’ve never not had snagging with ANY nail method, so to me what matters is how BADLY they snag. Personally, I don’t feel like these lift/snag that badly. I would say it’s very minor, and I never felt like they were going to just pop off. Full disclosure on the prep/application details I used: First, I used an instant cuticle remover gel and then pushed my cuticles back with a pusher. Second, I washed my hands very well with a hand soap that did not contain moisturizers/oils. Third, I trimmed my cuticles with a nipper. Fourth, I applied the strips (sized to leave a little space between my cuticle and the strip on all sides). Note: I did not use a pusher or any instrument to apply the strips. I simply aligned the strip on my nail, pulled/stretched the strip as needed to create a small gap from the cuticle while still covering my nail, and then used nail clippers to trim the strip fairly close to the length of my natural nail. Once positioned, I just used my fingers/thumb to press down on the strip to adhere to my nail. Lastly, I cured the strips with the included UV light (this was from the kit I got from the grocery). I believe the light is set to 45 seconds. To be safe, I do about 3 rounds to make good and sure they are hardened. And then I just filed the strips/nails to shape. What I would like to try next to improve application is the “acetone” trick to melt down the edges to potentially prevent lifting all together, and then adding a uv top coat. Finally onto the Heimish color: ITS GORGEOUS! I absolutely love the shades of edge of the colors included. I’m VERY fair in complexion and often certain tones in the nude family are extremely unflattering. But these are perfect. Absolutely will buy these again. Overall, I feel like these strips are a great value, durable, no fuss, low prep, and beautiful. I don’t change how I work or do chores around the house (I’m very hard on my hands; I type all day, wash my hands constantly due to patient care, and never wear gloves at home while doing chores). I have recommended them to all of my coworkers and best friend. I even bought my boss a starter kit and extra set of strips for her birthday, so she could try them. I can now have my nails done and not waste a ton of money and worry. Thank you, Ohora! P.S. As for damage, I am reviewing the Ohora remover drops next. Let’s just say they are DEFINITELY worth the money.

I was skeptical, based on some of the reviews but I had a split nail I didn't want to lose, so I gave them a try. Simple to apply, I trimmed them before I cured. Which Part of my skepticism was they would not be long enough to cover my natural nails, they are. And cured with my own LED lamp for 90 secs 3/4 times, then filed. I am pleasantly pleased! So far them seem sturdy, beautiful color, and one pack has two applications basically. If anything changes in the next two weeks, I will update. -Update; Day one, one cracked and they snag on my hair. Making putting my haor up in a ponytail a drag. Day two 3 chipped, one lifted from the base but it still attached to the length on my nail (the part past my finger). I am thinking the chipping may be user error. I noticed the ones I tried really close to my natural nail length are not cracking or chipping (one lifted on Day 5). The ones I left a bit longer length on are chipping and cracking first. I will let them start falling off, hopefully not take my natural nail with it or find a way to take them off. And try again trimming closer to my natural nail with all of them. If I am still getting hair bangs and chipping, I will find something else and deem these not worth it. Although cute, not cute enough for one day good wear.

The nails arrived fast were exactly as expected. The color was nice, the size was accurate, and they were packaged the same as the ones you buy in the store. I did notice that the adhesiveness didn't last as long as the colorways that specifically say "lasts for 14 days" on the box- those usually last 3-5 days on my nails before falling off. May work better for those with stronger nail beds.

I'm on day 5 of wearing the Ohora gel nail strips, and they still look like I just put them on! The color is exactly like what's shown on the product page. I've washed a sink full of dishes in water as hot as I can stand it, showered, done normal everyday things, and so far there's no lifting, no chipping, and most importantly no snagging my hair! I got this because I'm naturally lengthening my nails, and I want the extra protection. My nails rarely make it past this length (see A few things that I think really helped with the application and staying power: Push back your cuticles really well. Prep each nail with alcohol before applying. I found it better to use a strip that's slightly bigger and trim off the excess rather than use one that's too small. Most of the time I centered the strip, but for some of the larger ones, I start the lay from the side to get a better fit. The included light seems a little weak, so I cured each nail individually at least 2–3 times. After I finished all of my nails, I cured them all together another 2 times. I finished with a regular clear topcoat. I really think the topcoat made a difference because it seems to have sealed the edges and helped prevent lifting. So far, I'm extremely impressed. We'll see how it goes when it's time to remove the strips.

I really like these and they look great once they're on. For me, the fingernails last about 1–2 weeks before they start popping off, which is still pretty good. The bigger issue is removal. Even when I use the special liquid remover, I have a hard time getting them off without feeling like I'm damaging the surface of my natural nails. I wish the removal process were easier because otherwise I've been very happy with them.

My favorite so far. The blue ones have gotten me the most compliments i’ve ever gotten on my nails. I use Ohora allllll of the time but these are so pretty, last so long, have many different sizes, and took less than an hour to put on. Def gonna use these again. Unfortunately took a photo of them pretty grown out but they have lasted weeks so far

Never painting my nails again, worth the money. This color isn’t really my color but as you can see they are nice &, I still have a bunch left over to do again if I wanted to. I’m excited to get some designs! Lol I’ve had them on for a night and nothing has come off yet. I imagine they’ll last probably a week before starting to come off. (Same as nail polish so still worth it in my opinion)

Overall it is quite easy to apply the gel strips, trim with a small scissors for ease and use of UV light is quite easy (only comes with a cord and not the wall adaptor box to plug into the wall, FYI). The nails looked great and lasted for almost 2 weeks with moderate use. After removing my nails did peel and took some time getting strength back.

Love how easy it was to put on and how it cured under the uv lamp for 2 minutes and I had perfect nails!
