The PVC composition may not be compatible with rubber sole
After spending a lot of time cutting off the remnants of the old tread sanding down to a smooth surface making a wooden insole to clamp the sole to the boot using PU glue as per instructions the sole appeared to be stuck well. After a couple of weeks the soles started to come away. I went to the cobbler who stated that the PVC replacement was not compatible with the rubber on the boot. They suggested that special primer treatments would be required to adhere the sole to the boot Thor it to last more than a few weeks. There is nothing to suggest this could be a problem on the definition of the product.

very large
Ordered: 24 SeptemberArrived: 26 SeptemberExpected: black walking solesActual: large black walking solesAprox. dimentionsMax. Length: 18cmMax. Width: 12cmMax. Thickness: 6-7mm at treadShould have measured it before cutting down with a stanley knife.the soles are very lage (even for my boots). I guess they are sized for size 11 boots and if your feet are average/small you will need to cut them down.Seems to be good strong plastic, main difficulty in using them is finding strong enough glue (even gorrila glue seperates after an hour of walking). Finally nailed it to the shoe.Good, wears down slowly but adds alot of weight to the feet.

Great repair product
Great for repairing walking boots. Take the time to prep the original sole first, I sanded the remains of any lugs flat so the new sole once glued made good contact. Use a good glue too. I used black shoe goo and it really has worked well. Leave to dry thoroughly then trim off the excess. As always the 2nd one will be better than the 1st but who's going to see them when done!

Soft material
Given these are "walking boot" soles they are ok on carpet but too soft for walking on tarmac surfaces. Easy fit but good for about a month (circa 150 miles of road walking)

Advice
I purchased the soles to replace the ones on my 'Woof boots' which had worn thin and had never given good grip from new. My boots are size 10 so the soles I reckon are size 11. Cut the soles prior to fitting, I first tried 'Klebfest' glue which cobblers use but was not strong enough, I went for 'Stixall' from Toolstation held the sole in place with 'Ty-wraps' and clamps certainly did the job. Boots feel good, now retreaded and good for another 10,000 miles!

Substantial soles
Much more substantial than other soles I've bought that have worn through in a few months. I'm expecting these to last a lot longer. Choice of adhesive is important, this time I'm using Shoo Goo which is well reviewed.
