Practice makes perfect
This is an excellent introduction for a guitar beginner but don't expect to be on stage straight away. It has a gentle approach to learning music while experiencing simple tunes with the aid of CD accompaniment. Technique is introduced gradually but success will still be down to the individual's diligence and continued practice.

Ideal for my 8 year old
My daughter is learning the guitar for the very first time and this book plus the CD has proved invaluable in supporting her learning. I'll admit it requires the help of her tutor to annotate the key note letters, nevertheless the sequence of songs gets progressively harder but is ideal for her learning.

... be able to back up on his ( very poor ) school guitar lessons with this book
I am hoping my grandson will be able to back up on his ( very poor ) school guitar lessons with this book, with my help, and rekindle his interest by improved standard of playing. The Tune a Day series are always to be relied upon for a good comprehensive standard of tutors at any age level.

still an excellent way to learn any instrument
Bought this because I remember using tune a day cornet when I joined a brass band in my youth 45 years ago, still an excellent way to learn any instrument.

I've never been very good with chords so this has been a great help to me. Playing along with the CD is invaluable. I also really like the pull out chord sheet - but wish I had first copied it as mine is now getting a bit ragged with use! Would suggest this to any new owners.
