My mums enjoying the phone, but, if someone leaves a message or she misses a call, it flashes non stop. i know this is to alert her but how to stop it

To clear flashing light you must first delete ALL text messages AND voicemails....it will only stop flashing once your Inboxes are both clear....irritating if you want to keep an e-mail or two, but I'm afraid that's just the way it's designed!!!!!

will this take a large sim card or will it need to be cut to size, if so what size does it take?

Is there a screen protector for this model please?

Not to my knowledge. However, the flip top will be closed when you are not using it, so I don't think one is necessary. We have had three of these phones and never had a problem without one.
