Absolutely LOVE these pencils !

Has a great deep black value added to graphite drawings give a amazing feel of darker shadows.

Cons: Weird Smell: The pencils have a slightly weird smell that can be a bit distracting during use. It's not overpowering, but it’s noticeable. Overall, the Conté à Paris Artists' Pencils Pierre Noire 3B are excellent for achieving deep black hues and smooth application. If you can overlook the odd smell, they are a fantastic addition to any artist's toolkit.

I couldn't even sharpen mine they just kept breaking.

I’ve been using Koh I Noor charcoal pencils but these Conte pencils are amazing. Actually stopped during drawing class just to study the pencil. Don’t know if it’s pure charcoal. Draws a creamy line. Also twice as thick as normal pencil. Conte pencils live up to its great reputation. Def buying again.

Lead is all broken inside every time I buy it. Hate Having to go elsewhere bc of shipping time but sick of wasting my money

Exactly as stated. The pencils are used. Seller packaged their pencils and their hair got inside. Returned.

This is best pencil for drawing charcoal sketch😍. Every other pencils are lite version infront of this pencil. This pencil is softer ,darker and cheaper as compared to others. Terrible product. With every sharpening, the lead broke. I have never been able to use these. I so looked forward to creating art with them only to have disappointment. For the price, it’s a TERRIBLE product. The lead is crumbly and useless.

I really like how black these are. They seemed more charcoal like than what i thought i was going to get.

When tried for the first time it was smooth. It drew dark strokes and was versatile enough to draw any hair artifacts.
