11kg weight loss for our Labrador, highly recommended!
This food was recommended to us by the Vet for our 7 year old un-neutered male Labrador who was approximately 12 kg overweight at 47kg. It had sneaked up on us and as he is a really big dog anyway, surprisingly it wasn't that noticeable. Then he suffered a slipped disc and the pain and suffering he went through was appalling. We even had to contemplate having him put to sleep, but he came through it and started on his road to recovery. The most important aspect of this recovery, was to lose the extra weight and to strengthen the muscles along his spine with exercise. The vet suggested Royal Canin Satiety as Monty (being a normal Labrador) is always hungry. This food was to fill him up, provide the good nutrition he needed but with low calorific value and be good for his digestive system. We fed him the amount the vet recommended and after 9 months, he had lost 11kg and the vet said that was enough. It was amazingly successful. Very hard to have no treats as he was used to being spoiled but we felt it was life saving for him so we stayed strong. He is now a fit and healthy 36kg and his back has not flared up again. The vet then suggested we up the amount he can have slightly to maintain his healthy weight, He eats the food perfectly happily (but then Labradors do eat anything so I don't know if that's a particular recommendation if I'm honest!). We split his daily allowance into 2 halves, breakfast and dinner. His coat is good, soft and shiny, his "product" is perfect, no more dodgy tummy problems and we sometimes add some left-over vegetables to the food just for interest. He is a happy, healthy boy and if your dog needs to lose some weight, this will do the job. However, you should use it alongside advice from your vet, the amounts we were told to feed him were not the same as stated in the feeding guide on the bag so beware. Always take the vet's advice.

I was killing my dog with kindness!!
I can only give a 4 at this time, and thatâs because Wilma likes it! No trouble getting her to change from her regular food, and it seems to be doing what it says on the pack, she seems to be losing weight, until I take her to the vets I wonât know exactly. I like that It has no nasty odour like some dog biscuits, looking at her coat is looking so healthy and shiny, no bad breath, teeth are clean, even her little legs seem easier. I was lucky and bought 2 bags with big discount, and the service was really very helpful. One thing I definitely see , even at this early stage is she is more active, plays with her brother so much more, running around in the garden, maybe not for long but to watch her having fun is just wonderful ( she couldnât do that a couple of months ago).âBut, what were you doing to harm your dog!â I hear you ask. Like a lot of people I would give her a bit of whatever I was eating, I couldnât resist her imploring eyes, she never made a sound, just sat there looking at me with that âpleeeaseâ in her eye. She never had any health issues but when having annual injection She had put on so much weight it instantly became very serious, I have never felt so guilty in all my life, I had put the life of my friend and companion at risk.Thank goodness there are foods like this out to help your pet lose weight in a no risk, healthy way. Never give your pets extraâs, save a bit out of the daily quantity to give them as a treat, it works wonderfully.

Expensive but it works
Our elderly and somewhat overweight bulldog likes the food but I donât think sheâd be satisfied if she only had the recommended amount of kibble. She struggled with ordinary kibble that was âlightâ and at her age, she loves her food so my aim is to reduce her weight slowly and steadily but not so she feels deprived. Therefore I add a third of a tin of the wet Satiety to the kibble and feed her twice a day. Sheâs lost almost 4lbs in 2 months so whilst it is expensive, itâs working.
