Silverline 521333 DIY 135 W Orbital Sander 1/3 Sheet 135 W, Blue

My expensive orbital sander jammed and I found I can't get spare parts for the brand. So much for quality brands! I decided to replace it with the cheapest sander I could find so it wouldn't matter if it packs up. As long as it lasts longer than the warranty, I won't mind. The Silverline sander is cheap and seems Ok for the price. It works when switched on and that's good enough for me. The vacuum hose adaptor does not fit the end of my hose. No problem as Amazon sell universal adaptors and jubilee clips. If the sander stops working in less than one year, I will update this review. However, it only cost a little over £20, so I'm not sure it's worth the trouble of sending back.

Overall, a perfectly good sander, but be aware that the only way to attach sheets to it is by the levers: there is no hook and loop on the pad, so you need longer sheets than with a H&L system. Easy enough to buy a roll of sandpaper and cut your own, but not so easy to find punched sheets that are long enough to attach to this machine. Without punched sheets, the dust extraction is negligible. I'm sure you can get them, but beware

I gave my old one to a friend that was in good working order and purchased this one. Its excellent and I'm very pleased with it.

Product worked okay for various smaller jobs. When I needed it for a bigger job, it broke half way through. It appears something broke inside and while the motor was still running, the movement did not get transferred to the plate. Pros: - Okay for smaller DIY jobs Cons: - Broke during a more demanding job

I really don't understand how a Chinese? factory, a shipper, an importer, Amazon and Royal Mail can combine to put this product on my doorstep for under fourteen quid. Yes, the paper clamps are a tad feeble, but otherwise a simple and sturdy machine which does what it says on the tin. Have just spent four hours sanding a tired large picnic table, and apart from a few changes of ripped paper, the unit has completed a tough job with flying colours. Top marks at this price, can totally recommend.

I needed a sander in a hurry to correct a piece of painting work that had gone horribly wrong. It was not heavy paint, just a bit of spray paint that had sprayed too far, but it had dried and sanding was the only way to go, so I wanted something inexpensive that would be delivered by Amazon Prime. I read the poor reviews but I was convinced that my little task would hardly put much pressure on it. Wrong! First off (in the order of discovery) I read the instructions and found that the connection to the vacuum cleaner mentioned in the product description wasn't optional but compulsory, because the dust can damage the sander if there's no vacuum cleaner connected. The black vacuum cleaner connection shown in the photo at the back of the sander is in a separate package and you insert it into the rear. So far so good. Unfortunately it and my vacuum cleaner didn't connect - wrong sizes - so I took a cardboard toilet roll centre and fitted that over the black attachment and my vacuum cleaner tube with tape. The toilet roll tube held, the vacuum cleaner held, but the special Silverline attachment kept falling out of the sander!! Unreal. Short of superglue I have no idea how to get the Silverline attachment to stay in the Silverline sander. So I proceeded without the vacuum attached, deciding to settle instead for attaching the the vacuum cleaner every five minutes or so to clear out the dust from the sander. That might have worked if the sander had lasted that long. It only came with one piece of sanding paper, with the holes in all the right places, but after two minutes of very light sanding, one end tore off the sander, and after a couple of minutes so did the other. So I was left with a sander and a piece of broken sanding paper (the pack I ordered from Amazon hadn't yet arrived). I wasn't expecting miracles but I was expecting the thing to operate for more than two minutes without tearing the paper off itself! In the end I went to the hardware store in the village, bought several sheets of sanding paper and did it all by hand. It took a while, and my fingertips were shredded, but I wish I'd done that in the first place. That, or rather more sensibly, bought a more expensive piece of kit from a reputable brand. Please don't be fooled by the price - read all the one star reviews and believe that this really is a piece of rubbish that is simply not fit for purpose. Any purpose.

I bought this tool as a small job tool. I had read most of the bad reviews wondering what sort of use this sander was being asked to do. It is not a large, ridged work horse by any means but a well made,cheap end sander fit for any small to medium DIY sanding task. Quick delivery with secure packaging by the company. Don't believe all you read in these reviews use them as a guide, think about what you want a tool to do and spend accordingly.

Que dire, et bien très content de cet appareil,il fait son boulot comme une grande et cela pour 15€!! Bien sur pour ce prix ,j'ai le bouton on/off qui se coince de temps en temps ... Je le recommande ...a voir avec le temps si il dure

Pessimo prodotto davvero NON compratelo!!!! Io L’ ho usato 2 volte e poi non ha più funzionato per un difetto di fabbricazione immagino. La sfiga è che erano passati 35 giorni e non ho potuto nemmeno chiedere il reso o il rimborso . Qualita davvero scadente !!!
