Everything is easy to follow
PROS - the projects are lovely and imaginative. I would consider myself an Advanced Beginner/Intermediate crafter. Everything is easy to follow. There are tips in this book that I've not seen before; such as how to do cat noses, making wings and forming feet (on the B & W penguin...one of my favorites in the book). The bee, bunny and small owl are absolute adorable. This book is a keeper for the techniques alone, even if I never make all the projects.CONS - One of the reasons I bought this book is because of the picture of the sock animal which is labeled as "Grandpa Penquin" in the Stories section at the beginning. I was so excited to make him only to find out when the book arrived that it is not one of the projects. I can probably figure out how to make him eventually, but I am very disappointed. This is the reason I only give the book "3 stars". There is also a cat, pig and frog that are shown in the pictures, but no project information is given. It would have been better if the author left out these items.

I'm addicted to this
I bought this book a couple of weeks ago and since then I have already made 3 different sock animals and can't stop (people I know are starting to watch their socks a little more carefully in fear that they may get turned into sock animals). I Like this book better than the first one (Stray Sock Sewing), though I would still warn that some of the projects in the book are hard to make if you're just starting out. Also, the animals you make never quite come out like the ones in the book, but I feel like that's what gives them a little more personality. In particular, the "Baby Bunny" was super easy to make, as was the frog. Another similar book you may want to get (and that has easier designs, if you're just starting out) is Sock and Glove (here's the link):. Sock and Glove: Creating Charming Softy Friends from Cast-Off Socks and Gloves

Imaginative & cute creations!
I first saw this in a bookstore which is good since I was able to flip through most of the book. This is so imaginative and cute. I then bought this on Amazon since it was cheaper than the bookstore. I started with this instead of book 1 since I only saw this in the bookstore. He doesn't teach you how to make all of them but after you do some, you can figure out. I hope anyways. I will attempt that at some point. I've included images of stuff I made and I am by no means really good at stuff like this. The hardest part probably is to find socks that would work well for the project. I've never shopped so much for socks before!!! recently I got lucky and found a dollar store that had socks I wanted cheap. But this is a great way to make cute stuffies. I plan on making more and trying to make some that don't have instructions. I hope others give it a try.

Charming and unique
I find the animals shown in this book to be unique and very cute. The techniques used give these creations whimsical charm that differs from other sock creation books. I just completed my first project -- the sheepdog -- and it came just as shown in the picture. The well-illustrated instructions don't leave you guessing about any step. If you like making socks creatures, or stuffed animals in general, this would be a great first book or addition to any craft library.

Sock Softies... Super-Cute!
Great step-by-step instructions, including the basics, so it should even be satisfying for beginners. Some have complained that there are not instructions for some of the critters pictured.Daniel has given you the tools, I believe you can make all pictured and more!I started with the Striped Elephant... mine doesn't look just like the one Daniel made, but I didn't expect to!

Perfect gift
I bought this book along with Stray Sock Sewing for my girls for Christmas. They are both in their 20's. I would consider both of them beginning sewers and they loved both books. They are having a lot of fun and really enjoy making the animals. They have had no difficulty following the patterns. Thank you for providing me with the perfect Christmas gift.

Most Popular in my Sewing Classes
This book is the best beginners sewing book. I teach children how to sew and with this book they can make amazing stuffies for themselves. They are able to learn how to follow directions, use a sewing machine for simple stitches and hand stitch.

Highly reccomended for all ages
Such fun in a book. Clear instructions and great photos help you to get to grips with this socks. Some of the projects do require two socks to complete but if you buy them from a very cheap shop for less than a pound you can't go wrong . Highly reccomended
