DEPSTECH DS520 - 5"IPS Screen Borescope - Simple and Easy to Use - Great Picture.
First thing read the manual, less than 7 pages and its multi language. It's all there, step by step. They really made it easy. Plug in the USB extension camera cable, this part I would say was just a little tricky as it's a real snug fit. Especially when you put it away take your time to disconnect. I used this camera to get behind a wall cavity that had foam insulation. What is really nice about this model is that it has dual lenses. It comes in real handy. One on the front and one on the side. With one push of a button you can swap views and if you need to perform a split screen that is also supported. Side by side view and you can also rotate the image with a button vs having to turn the camera or cable in weird angles. Having a tool like this at your disposal really makes some jobs much easier. The other item where this camera shines is in its focus, it seems to be faster than most I have tried in the past.. The resolution can also be changed from 1080p to 720 very easily, just in case you take video vs snap shots on the embedded storage card. All in all, great little camera. Breaks down easily for storage and fits nicely into its padded zippered case. For data transmission of pics / video it uses a USB-C type cable so that they can be easily transferred to a PC. Next Job will be installing recessed light fixtures behind sheetrock in the celling, so the long reach on the flexible but stiff cable as well as the bright led light will certainly come in handy.

Exceeded expectations
This is a solid, well-priced endoscope. The picture quality is very good, the light was plenty bright enough on its highest setting. The cable is definitely long enough and with just the right amount of rigidity. I like the semi-hard shell storage case. If I have to take any points off it would be on two things. One the accessories feel cheap and aren't well thought-out. The magnet attachment screws into the end of the camera and sits about an inch in front of the lens but directly in the field of view. I ended up bending the end of the magnet 90 degrees so I could see what I was doing while it was attached. Also, the recordings are in .avi format. I don't know much about .avi other than my Galaxy S23 Ultra doesn't recognize it. I was able to transfer the files directly to my phone with a USB-C to USB-C cable but I had to move them on a computer to get them to play. Maybe I can convert them to a readable file type on my phone but I didn't investigate that. You can see in my attached video, three quick recordings. First was inside the back of my dusty fridge. Second, I placed a screw down inside my truck's engine bay and then retrieved it with the altered magnet attachment. Finally, a look inside my furnace with the split screen turned on, giving a view straight in and 90 degrees to the right. Overall, this is a very handy endoscope at a great price.

Good features and well made.
Depstech DS520 First Impressions: • Depstech has been around for a while and I have had a couple of their units which performed well but were of the smart phone wifi configuration which I am not a fan of. This one has a integrated display which I think is much better. • Nicely boxed. • Comes with a well-made semi ridged case with compartments for all the components. • Comes with a printed user’s manual. • Has a “C” type USB port. • Looks like someone cared when it was put together. Has a good product label with model and serial number. • The unit is put together with screws so it will probably be possible to replace the battery in the future. Impressions while using: • Clear, bright screen. • Split screen is a nice feature. You can see both the forward and the side lens at the same time. • Side lens is very useful. • Switching between lenses and screens is easy. Overall impression: • I like it very much. Has features that my more expensive scope doesn’t. • I would recommend its purchase.

Good quality and Survived Tropical Storm Alberto's Saltwater Dunk
Update 2 6-28-24 Miraculous Recovery after dunk by TS Alberto:) My Depstech was submerged in seawater for "2.5 days". It automatically turned on as I removed it from the case and I immediately turned off, Battery was 5% as water dripped out of the USB port. Thought it was finished as there was some corrosion at batter connection and rust on the USB port . Thoroughly rinsed a few times with RO water and finished with distilled water, sprayed dielectric oil on battery and USB port and dried in front of a low power heater for 36 hours. I was stunned when IT WORKED!!! Broke memory card when disassembling and USB connection requires some jiggling but this is crazy IMPRESSIVE 6 Stars! Initial review Will update as I use more but with exception of some minor screen glitches and very hard to plug in, it is better than I expected. So far I consider this a great purchase. update It has been great for working on my boat. Clear video and no data loss screens. The long rigid cable is okay; however, extending about 5 ft into open space is about it.

Great customer service
I bought this 50’ camera a little over a year ago, and it stopped working. I reached out to Depstech through email and they responded quickly. They identified the problem and sent me a new camera that same week. A Big thank you to Depstech, and the camera works great! This camera is durable, and the picture quality is good for the price.

Don’t expect too much and you’ll be happy
Buying an endoscope is a tricky endeavor. This is definitely a use-case dependent purchase. In my case, I needed something that I could use to inspect a storm drain pipe that was buried underground. There are better tools for this application but Roto-Router quoted me $800 just to come out and set up, plus some amount per hour while on-site. A 3/4” scope would be better for my situation but they are several hundred dollars and I don’t plan on using it more than a half-dozen times in my remaining years here on earth. So I went cheap, and I got cheap. The screen is surprisingly clear. But trying to push a 3/8 line more than 10 feet is very difficult. This is why Amazon tries to push an electrical fish line as an optional and additional purchase when you are shopping for an endoscope with a lengthy camera line. Because it will buckle and snag after 10 feet if unaided by something more rigid attached to it. That aside, the camera itself was decent enough for me to find the clog but not too useful in seeing what needed to happen in order to clear the clog which requires a wider view of the situation with higher clarity. Any endoscope works great if there are no obstructions. But when you are trying to assess a situation to determine how to attack and resolve it you will need a clear view from a good vantage point with excellent lighting and visibility. All-in-all, this was great value for the money and I can see its benefit when used for shorter pipe inspections and for indoor plumbing.

Makes everything a breeze
I have another borescope made by Depstech-view, that connects to your phone. I love that little guy, but this one is a major upgrade! It makes it so easy when the camera is attached to the viewing screen, and all the controls are right there, too. otherwise you have to navigate an app, which is fine, it’s just way more intuitive with the buttons physically in front of you. Also, the battery life is outstanding. I charged it and used it a couple times and put it away for about a week and it still had almost full battery. The case it comes with is a huge plus. I can fit my old snake cam AND this one. It’s a nice case with convenient pockets that snugly fit the camera and accessories, with plenty of room. Even the packaging that it came in is really very nice. I am very pleasantly surprised at how far this company has come since I purchased my first snake cam from them, a couple years ago. That camera has taken quite a beating, and still works great. So I imagine this one will too.

Great inspection Camera
I recently purchased the Boroscope, and I must say, it has completely revolutionized my visual inspections. I work as a forensic engineer so this is a very important tool for me. This device deserves nothing less than a five-star review, and here's why: USB C Charger: The inclusion of a USB C charger is an absolute game-changer. It provides quick and efficient charging, allowing me to power up my boroscope in no time. The versatility of USB C compatibility is a huge advantage, as I can conveniently charge it using various devices like laptops or power banks. Sleek and Protective Case: The boroscope comes with a stylish and sturdy case that not only looks great but also offers excellent protection. It keeps all the components organized and safe during transportation and storage. The well-thought-out design ensures that everything stays in place, preventing any damage or loss. Impressive Screen: The boroscope's screen is a delight to use. The vibrant and crystal-clear display allows for an immersive viewing experience. It provides a detailed and real-time visualization of the inspection area, making it easy to identify and assess any issues. The screen size strikes the perfect balance between portability and visibility, enhancing the overall usability. Convenient Memory Card: I was delighted to find that the boroscope comes with a memory card included. This eliminates the need for me to purchase a separate card and ensures that I can start using the device right out of the box. The additional storage space allows me to capture and store numerous inspection videos and images without worrying about running out of memory. The Boroscope is an exceptional device that exceeds expectations in terms of quality and convenience. With its USB C charger, durable case, impressive screen, and included memory card, it offers a complete package that caters to every user's needs. I am thoroughly impressed with the performance and durability of this boroscope, and it has undoubtedly become an indispensable tool in my toolbox. If you are in search of a reliable, high-quality, and versatile boroscope, look no further than this remarkable product. It will undoubtedly elevate your visual inspections to new heights and provide you with unparalleled convenience. I highly recommend the Boroscope to anyone seeking a top-notch device for their inspection needs.

Very handy when investigating my plumbing and sump pit. Useful for many situations.
My family tends to leave their chop sticks and drinking straws in the sink, but this sometimes leaves me wondering if any of them have fallen into the drain. Thanks to the DEPSTECH 50FT Sewer Inspection Camera, I was able to verify that nothing, yet, has fallen into the drain. This inspection camera is very useful around the house, for many different situations, and also for my car. I have used it to get the serial number off of my sump pump, which is installed in my sump pit. It would have been too difficult for me to have used another method for getting that serial number. I like that it has a 50 foot cable, making it a great tool to have in my arsenal for the day that I have to see what might be clogging my house drain. I have used it to inspect the drain on my washing machine, to see what has fallen behind the refrigerator, and to see what was behind a big stack of boxes and bags in my basement. I also plan to use it to inspect the space above my attic and between a couple of walls (with the power turned off), to see if a bee nest is being made. The DEPSTECH 50FT Sewer Inspection Camera seems to be well made and designed. I like that the opening for the USB (type A) port, for the inspection cable connector has a groove on it, so that you can’t put the connector in backwards. The USB cable port also has a reinforced opening that helps to protect the USB port from getting damaged when snaking the inspection cable. The screen is very bright and clear. A great feature of the device is that you can press a button to rotate the image. It comes with a couple tools that go on the end of the cable – a magnet and a hook. It's also great that it comes with a memory card which enables you to save pictures and video. One of the best features of this inspection camera is that it has 2 cameras – one on the front and the other on the side. Both cameras have a light that can be adjusted from the display controller. You can control which camera is turned on and which camera is showing on the display. Even better is that you can show both cameras at once, on the same screen, and the same time, in a split view. The instruction manual is easy to follow and the device is easy to use. This is a very handy device to have when you need it. – See pictures. The DEPSTECH 50FT Sewer Inspection Camera definitely gets 5 stars from me!

Brilliant customer service
DS520 has been really useful and a great product. However cable stopped working after limited use but also after a year. Contacted Depstech customer service direct, who were helpful, responsive and positive. They asked for information to support warranty and to confirm fault. Could offer a full refund, a shorter cable (but not a 50ft cable) or a newer DS590 at no cost. The newer version turned up today. Brilliant customer service.

Easy To Use, Bright LED Light And Great Screen/Camera😀
Nothing is worse than having a clogged drain or diagnosing something on a vehicle and not being able to see the problem. Depstech is a company that I am familiar with and really like their products. Unfortunately not all jobs are right at the source and the 50FT inspection camera lets you see those extremely hard to reach areas. The unit is basically two pieces, the snake camera and the screen. The snake camera is 50FT long, flexible and is completely waterproof. So no need to worry about getting it wet while in the drain. You will run into issues if the camera itself is submerged in the water, in which case it will be difficult to see. You have LED lights on the camera that you can dim or brighten. This seems like a standard feature, but I actually have an endoscope with no light which limits its use. It is useful that the snake has a dual lense camera, that lets you see from the side or the front. The screen is 5" in size and I think that’s a fairly decent size to see what you need to see. The device comes pre loaded with a 32GB memory card. This allows you to save pictures or videos of the problematic issue. The screen has minimalistic options that don’t really improve your users experience. It does have one useful option allowing to switch from two cameras or also giving you the ability to see split screen. You can also dim the screen and the light on the camera. You can adjust from 720p to 1080p video quality. I actually find the screen controls, are not very intuitive. You would think the back button would send you back in the menu, but it’s actually the button to rotate the camera at 180°degrees. Instead you either have to hit the OK button or the gear button to get you out of the menu. ✅WHAT I LIKE: ▪️Fully USB-C rechargeable. ▪️50FT worth of cable is more than adequate to get into those dark spaces. ▪️You get a handy carrying case that holds all your goodies. ▪️The dual camera is a nice touch and gives you multiple views. ▪️You also get a few attachments that hook onto the end of the camera, like a magnet, a hook and a cap protector. ❌WHAT I DON’T LIKE: ▪️It becomes difficult to manage the 50FT of cable when it’s fully unwound. ▪️Its also a pain rolling up the cable, so you can fit it back in the case. ▪️The USB that plugs into the screen can be difficult to insert or remove. ▪️Some sort of zoom feature whether it be manual or digital would be useful. 🦋OVERALL: This is a very good endoscope and has already assisted in removing some debris in a pipe. It’s not a tool, that will be used everyday, but when you need it you will be glad you had it. I would recommend Depstech 50FT endoscope without hesitation.

One of the best tools I've ever used.
The DEPSTECH Industrial Endoscope arrived fantastically packaged. This is a phenomenal product! Words can't describe how much I love this device. It's now probably one of the most useful tools in my collection. The build quality of this device is fantastic! It has good ergonomics and is a pleasure to hold. I love the resolution of the screen, its crystal clear, and bright enough for viewing outside. The Camera quality was excellent, and it was a joy to view images on the screen in real time. It comes with a 32gb Micro SD card, so it's ready to go straight out of the box. There's no app required or special setup process you need to follow first. It just works! So, this device is first timer user friendly, and its menu system is easy to navigate and it's intuitive to use. They listed this device as a sewer inspection device, but this product has far more uses than this. I'm mainly going to use this product to check inside cavity walls, check engine components on cars such as the cylinder heads, pistons, camshafts, etc. This device is one of the most useful products you can have in the automotive industry, or just for the regular home mechanic like me. I honestly don't know why I never thought of buying this product sooner. It's one of those devices where once you have one, it's hard to imagine yourself living without one. If I ever lose this product, or it fails on me, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one. It's well worth the asking price. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
