Awesome chip if you have the cash
I paired it witha corsair H150i rgb pro cooler and its temps sit around 30 deg on idle and 50 ish under load. I coudlnt quite get mine to 5ghz under overclocking but I'm happy with 4.8 over 8 cores and 16 threads.I feel that this chip sits right on the balance point of price versus performance for the x299 chips.Highly recomended.

Amazing Amazon Prime Deal
Amazing price for Prime subscribers, bought to upgrade a PC that was running a older i7 that my new Rift didn't get on with too well.VR is now a dream, you can really get lost in the world and it's as smooth as anything. Please remember to get a decent cooler to use this with though, you don't want to get it too over-heated

Superb. Beats the competition hands down.
Top CPU in 12 out of 16 reviews of games and equal second or third in others. Not so quick as the multicore CPUs as you'd expect so you pays your money and takes your choice. Takes 112W so you'll need a good stable powerful PS and fan/cooler.For the money you cannot find a more potent chip.Very overclockable with the right board they say.

this is a very good processor
i cant really complain, i got it for a fraction of its price on the sale, really stable, not the best for gaming tbh, if you are searching something for games pick up a K processor instead of an X

no complaints here
thought i was going to miss my 2 xeon 5650's but with this i've noticed no major loss (apart from heavy CAD type things) but it seeems to like being slightly over-clocked seems more stable at 4Ghz just got to have the cooling for it. It will qite happily boost itself to 5ghz with no issues either

Do your research, please!!!
Not worth the at all, just buy i7 7700K and will thank me later.

Great CPU but X299 board is expensive
Great CPU, awesome paired with GTX1070. Bought when on offer which helped offset the cost of X299 board. Not sure I would have paid full price though as z270/370 boards so much cheaper and there is almost no difference in performance between this and 7700k

Great chip if you are happy to get an x299
Amazing price, I picked this up for 179.99.Powerful chip 4.3ghz to a boosted 4.5.Only downside is the x299 mobo requirement.
