Best simplest espresso machine on the market
I bought this to replace the previous one I’d had for years. I love the simplicity of how it works. The quality of the flavor of the coffee that comes out is great. I’m not a cappucinco fan so the fact this machine doesn’t have that feature doesn’t bother me at all. Basically a very simple machine to operate that produces excellent cups of espresso and lungo

I wish I had read the bad reviews
We had a great Nespresso machine for 10+ years and the CitiZ seemed like a great replacement for it after it died on us. I really wish I'd read the reviews that talked about the constant humming and other issues. We tried to resolve the hum by just unplugging the machine when we weren't using it. But the actual espresso shots were just so inconsistent I'm going to return it. We tried following Nespresso's suggestion of turning the button on and off 3 times to expel a few shots of water and clear the lines - but even that only worked sometimes. Often, the machine would shoot hot water into your cup before the coffee came out, so it would be all watered down. And the crema pales in comparison to what our old machine made. Very sad that Nespresso has let its merchandise go down hill because I really like their coffee.

Superior coffee and easy to use
We recently switched from a Keurig machine and the quality of coffee we get from this Nespresso machine is significantly better. From the crema froth on top to the brewing process and the depth of flavor in the brewed coffee, it is just a much better end result. The technology that this machine uses (19 bar brewing pressure and higher temperature water) extracts far more flavor from the coffee than the drip method that Keurig and other such coffee machines use. Though the pods are slightly more expensive it is well worth it if you enjoy a near coffee shop level experience. I invite you to do your own research, but we are very pleased with our purchase and really enjoying our morning coffee much more now. :)One other thing to keep in mind. Some of the smaller Nespresso machines cannot fit a normal sized coffee cup underneath the spout, making it necessary to remove the drip tray and then you would get some drips onto your countertop. The reason we picked the Citiz model is the fold down tray for smaller espresso cups that can be folded away to place a normal sized cup on the lower drip tray and you don't lose the functionality of catching any stray drips after the brewing process and removing the mug. Otherwise, the brewing process is the same for all the Nespresso original line machines (not Vertuo model.) For us, this Citiz model represented the best blend of features and price in an original line machine which is why we chose it. Highly recommended.

Best Value for Delicious Espresso-Style Beverages
Likes:- Very solidly built, sleek and attractive in chrome, small and narrow footprint (only 5.1” W x 10.9” H by 14.6” D), warms up quickly (25 seconds), auto shutoff (9 mins or reprogrammable to 30 mins).- This machine pumps out delicious espresso (40 mL button on left) or lungo (110 mL button on right) — both sizes of which can also be reprogrammed. Before you lift the handle to dispose of a pod, you can press either button again for a weaker “second run” — i.e., to top up your own cup or make a second cup for someone who prefers a lighter beverage. Also, without a pod inserted, it will dispense hot water when either button is pressed, which makes the machine more versatile (i.e., to make your own tea, hot chocolate, cup-o-soup, etc).- The water tank (1 L) is the largest of all the Original line Nespresso machines. Power cable length: 33 inches. 1-year warranty.- Comes with a starter pack of 14 assorted pods for you to discover which ones will be your faves.Dislikes:- Just as noisy as many other single-cup machines, so if you’re looking for something that won’t wake up the house, this isn’t it.- This particular unit doesn’t come with a milk frother (having said that, frothers, in my experience and according to many reviews, stop working well after a few months, so pocket the savings and get a good hand frother).

Flavour
As a novice to Espresso, we were at the Ritz Carlton near Santa Monica and they had this machine. My husband and I had never had espresso so we gave it a go and I absolutely loved it! It’s a bit noisy when brewing but worth it. I purchased the pods, as well, from Amazon that had a 5 star rating and it’s great. I have a double espresso every morning.

Looks nice and does the job
I bought this Nespresso to replace my 5 year old Nespresso. I wanted chrome and it looks smart in our kitchen. I think my old one made a hotter beverage but this one is fine as I add water from a kettle to my cup. One thing we noticed is a faint hissing sound while the machine is plugged in, so we now unplug it after use. That's not as convenient as leaving it plugged in but not a big deal.

Great espresso!!!
We were in London this September and our hotel had one in the room. We used it and instantly ordered one to be sent to our home!
