Is this grease suitable for tripod joints that usually require a thinner grease for the needle bearings

C.V joint bearings are of the needle bearing type. This grease is not particularly thick due to the fact that it has to continuously migrate to the surfaces that are being lubricated without disrupting the small diameter rollers. That being said it does adhere quite tenaciously, so might be unsuitable, due to the fact that it might accumulate on the bearing of your tripod, causing it to become resistant to movement or in other words 'dampened'. In addition to this, it might contain chemicals that are destructive to certain non metallic parts ( excluding those of rubber, synthetic rubber, or silicone of course ). Commonsense would dictate that if a thinner grease is recommended it is for a good reason; therefore I would suggest that you obtain the service or user manual for the tripod, or failing that, research the specifications of grease for your particular appliance; I am sure that you could source it online.
