OK let's be clear about what this is. Think egg box, in terms of thickness and rigidity of the material. Without actually tearing it apart I can't be sure, but would guess it is made of fairly thin cardboard, or possibly very thin plastic, with any strength coming from the extruded shape. Outside it's covered with a stretched coat of a thin matt plastic and the inside is lined with a thin coating of a textured nylon material; there is no padding whatsoever. Internally one half has a piece of half inch wide elastic stretched across the middle, and the other side has a mesh pocket stretched across about half of it. The zip closure around three sides allows it to open out flat, with the fourth side forming a hinge of fabric.Does it do what it's supposed to? Well, up to a point yes in that it will fully enclose your hard drive thereby preventing it getting scratched, dusty, or maybe splashed. Is it "shockproof" as the title suggests? I would doubt that it would stand up to being knocked hard by any heavy solid or rough-edged object, without it sustaining a dent or even a hole (depending how sharp the object is). I certainly wouldn't expect it to protect anything inside it from a force such as a weight being placed on it. As I say, the impression is that it is made of thin cardboard and it would crush quite easily.Is it worth the money? In my opinion, for my own needs, yes definitely. I've been storing back up drives in their original boxes, and (especially given that I can fit two in one of these cases) a couple of these cases will save me considerable storage space, while protecting the drives as much as I need given that they will be stored in a fitted bag or on a shelf. I paid just £1.98 and waited 14 days for the case to arrive from China, which was about the time expected, and I'm happy. I now see I can buy a blue one for just £1.46, and I will be doing so.If I was regularly carrying drives in a bag with other, heavy and hard objects, then I would look for something more substantial, ideally constructed of a strong metal and with internal padding, but I would expect to spend considerably more for it. If you want something to keep the dust off and prevent your drive getting scratched, then I would say this should give marginally better protection than a soft case.

It was excellent overall but it does not fit one of my existing external HDD's due to the physical shape of the case it is in. This is only a minor thing. The product overall was excellent, sturdy and well worth the money paid for it. Would recommend it but I found that the Sagem drive is a strange shape so this was the one that wouldn't fit. Others, however, fit nicely. The added section for the data cable was excellent. Yes I would purchase again if I have the need to purchase another one in the future,

I bought two of these, one for a  Samsung M3 Slimline 2 TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive - Black  and one for a  [Top Rated Power Bank] RAVPower 16750mAh Portable Charger External Battery Pack with Most Powerful 4.5A Output and iSmart Technology - Black . Both fit securely (the power bank is a bit snug) and feel well-protected inside the semi-hard shell. There's plenty of room for cables and those odd bits and pieces one never knew one needed, and the construction seems sound. Overall, very pleased with these cases, especially for the price!

After a wait of 3 weeks this finally came it was worth the wait.

Good value; lightweight but good protection for carrying between home and office. Neatly trimmed inside with useful net and elasticated grip / band. Zips shut; water resistant. Possibly not suitable for heavy duty use - but I use it every day without issue.

Handy case - fits my Samsung M3 Slimline Portable Hard Drive really well, don't know if it is shockproof but don't want to test it! Already broke my old hard drive so hoping this case will help keep my new one safe!

Good enough. Protects my portable hard drive from the odd scratches.Update:I purchased 3 of these over time and haven't had any problems with them, other than discovering that each are slightly different in sizes. The delivery take ages and lastly my 4th purchase never arrived.If you have money to throw away or don't mind a gamble then ordering this is okay. Myself, I will start looking else where where the product is sure to arrive.
